How do you like this one? I was put off by the black and gray shades, looks too dull to me.

Actually it's sort of a dull rose and green, rather than black and white.

Thanks for this information, Lee. I only saw the deck on the internet and there the colours looked more like black and white.

The deck uses the color gamut of Leonardo's sketches, which had dull rose/red shades, tan (paper), subtle greens. In short, it is much like looking at the man's sketches. The virtue lies in the wonderful skill and talent of Leonardo's sketching, which is very expressive indeed.
Go to a good bookstore and take a look at his sketches to see if you might enjoy the artwork in this deck.

Hm, I see there is a scheme against poor old catlin, nearly all a.netties want to send her to her fav book store tonight so buy books and decks there ;)

Of course Catlin! Would you expect otherwise of us? ;p
The Leonardo Da Vinci Tarot would be an interesting deck to have in one's collection I think, simply because it's Leonardo Da Vinci's artwork, and Tarot, put together! I see Lo Scarabeo are focusing latey on decks based on the works of famous artists... They've done Da Vinci, Bosch, Durer, Boccaccio... Any others?

Dante, Tarot of the Golden Tsar, maybe it was due to my last years chat with Mr Pignatello whom I complimented about the great artist decks they have released before ;)
I like the LoScarabeo artist decks a lot more than the ghastly stuff like Celtic Tarot or Tarot of the Gnomes (*catlin ducking behind her desk in case someone throws a deck at her*).
Maybe I should give the Da Vinci deck another think.
