Although I buy decks mainly to read with them, I have decks I never read with. Some of them get little use at all, but I have a few I use for other purposes:
Crow's Magick tarot
I use this deck for meditation. Most decks I use have pictures with lots of details (swedish witch, merryday, ancestral path), and this deck has less details and a black background, which works better for me. In detailed pictures my eyes wonder all over the card, and with crow's magick I find it easier to find rest.
Wheel of Change tarot (Genetti)
Although I love this deck I don't think I will use it for readings, not for myself anyway, maybe if someone asked me to use it.
I have it mainly for study, I find it fascinating why she chose the images and what is the stoty behind it, there is a lot of cultural background in the book.
I wonder who else has decks they like to use, but not for readings ?

I use my World Spirit tarot only for doing tarot spellworks. It is great for that purpoe and works equally well for me as for others.
The Roots of Asia is my meditation deck but sometimes I also use the Visconti Gold for tarot mediation.

As much as I love the artwork of the Haindl tarot, I can't read with it. Maybe after I do my in-depth Thoth study next year they will make more sense.
Although I don't have the same problem with the Rohrig, go figure.

I suspect most will find this odd, but I use the Robin Wood only for spellwork.

I use Songs For the Journey Home purely for self-reflection. I could probably use it for other readings, but it loans itself so well to self-discovery that it has become such a tool for me.

I have such a hard time reading with the Celtic Tarot. The images are not the traditional meanings. Okay, the artwork is breathtaking, but I can't get past so much business and action going on, for me, I need a bold simple picture that speaks volumns...

I just bought the Ansata deck which is majors only because I saw it and decided I had to have it but I have no idea what I'll do with it. I also got a deck in a Tarot symposium loot bag called I Tarocchi Dell'alba Dorata which is also majors only. I just like looking at them. I stopped using my Haindl deck but sometimes place it in my alter. There are others that just sit on the shelf. Heck, do I use any of my decks?! Ah yes, Thoth, Alchemical, Universal Waite, Victoria Regina decks! And sometimes my Mythic deck.

i have the lovecraft deck but i cannot imagine a situation where i could read with it. something about it crosses a line with me and feels too scarey for me to open up myself to read. i vote it deck most likely to give me nightmares!
