A while back I ran across a copy of the Greenwood that a friend was selling. At the time it wasn't on my wishlist so I passed it along to another AT member. I offered it to that person before I even had a chance to look at it. When I finally received it from my friend of course I had a look before I mailed it out.
We all know what happened next...I wanted to keep it. Had I not already offered it to that person I would have.
I saw a couple on Ebay while we were saving for the move, I had to pass them up. While using a borrowed computer during the time mine was down during the move to check my email one evening, I took a peek at my watchlist and the one was still within my price range. I put in my bid and held my breath.
:D:D:D I GOT IT!!! :D:D:D
The seller who it turned out was an AT member, was very understanding about my wanting to wait to use my own computer for payment. I have had my credit card hijacked before when I used someone elses computer.
I wonder how my new mail carrier will feel about "stalking"?

I think that new tarot sets do a very very good thing when people want fresh starts.
I believe the Greenwood is one of those rare decks that when you get to it, the mix of animals and glyphs and characters can make you giggle as well as enjoy them. The minors are very intriguing. The Lovers make me grin, but hey, I'm told that I didn't go after my ideal in my first life as an Egyptian...
I'm glad that I did finally pick it up some years ago before it went oop. It was a mix of things, but really, I have kept this deck when other celtic styles haven't agreed with me over the long term. The celtic shaman deck is refreshing, as well, so hope things go well and you may find it someday.
Best wishes,
Mari H.

Grumpf.... Not to *everyone* who really wants to....:(
Although I have heard rumours about a reprint, somewhere!
But still: Congratulations, LadyMedusa! :)
I'm happy for you.

I was pretty shocked when I found my copy of the Greenwood some months ago . It was new, unopened, & only a dollar over the original price.
Recently, I got a lightly used Celtic Shaman's Pack for 3.25 too.
Ok, hate me.
(P.S. Hedera- I will pm you if I see a likely Greenwood hiding somewhere..)

Thank you Tarotphelia! That would be greatly appreciated. :)
I'm curious: could anyone describe the box for me? Sort of general impression, colour, etc.
Just so I know what to look for.....

Has a very unusual 'shaman' like figure in front, I believe. Box is green shading. For some reason I keep thinking it shows the Lovers, but that would be very wrong.
I saw a scan somewhere, will post when I find.

Thanks Mari! :)
After looking at that shaman, I left that site as quickly as I could.... No sense in torturing myself with drooling over cards I may never get to see for real! ;)
It's uncanny how much that shaman figure looks like a character from many of my dreams..... Think the deck is calling to me? :D
Yes Maan, you seem to have the uncanny knack of finding great decks in E!
And since you'll be moving there, I hope my chances will rise even further. :)
You know, I've never even managed to see it listed on ebay... Probably just as well, don't want to go bankrupt! LOL

I am just so glad that I bought this deck right back when I was starting to get interested in Tarot. Really, I just looked for the themes I was really interested in and read every review I could find.
I bought the deck at the same time as I got my Arthurian (Hallowquest). I had no idea it would become so sought after - and no, not selling.

ps if I see a copy I will get it

Sometimes you just get lucky.
I got my copy from Amazon sellers. They had it listed as just the book, but when it arrived it was the whole package with the cards still sealed. I paid a little less than the sticker price.
I don't think I came down off that high for a week!

Oh becky - lucky you, not many buyers get such a nice surprise !
I found my copy on ebay, I got almost outbid in the last minute and I had an American AT member ship the deck to me (the buyer only shipped inside US) - I was so happy when I got it.
The deck has an atmosphere all its own, I still love it although I don't use it that much for readings.
Sorry I am not selling mine either ;)
I wonder if it will ever get into print again - or is it just a few passionate AT'ers who want this deck very much ?

for the United Kingdom and U.S. sites might yield good results.
Once in awhile, abebooks.com have listing internationally for tarot titles if you can enter the author's name. They ship internationally and cite all conditions. Chesca Potter would be the name that you enter, I believe?
