A few weeks ago I was seeking information about the tarot deck used in the main title sequence of the HBO series Carnivāle. You were all very helpful, so I wanted to say "thanks again" and pass along this article about how the title sequence was created.
There are some BIG, detailed photos of the tarot cards (particularly on page two) but sadly, they don't really exist.

Also, I heard from HBO's online store that the Carnivāle tarot deck they were selling is GONE. They only had 100 decks to sell (and a few to give away as promotions) and now that they've sold the 100, they've removed the item from their catalog.
So if you purchased a deck, you're one of the few who will own this soon-to-be collector's item. While the deck was priced at $14.95, I have seen two decks sold on Ebay for $44.25 and $60.50.
(I purchased a deck but I'm still waiting for it. And on a side note, I purchased the Leonardo da Vinci tarot from Amazon about three weeks ago and I'm still waiting for THAT -- 1 to 2 months is the new estimate.)

I have yet to catch the opening sequence of this show to which I am now addicted. It comes on at 8 pm here and that is the time I am settling the birds in for the night...so I rush in just after the beginning.
I am grateful for the two links...I am off to see the opening now on link provided.
Anymore info would be much appreciated!!!

I suspect they will prob re-print this deck when the series goes through the roof...as it will. The writing, acting, filmwork are all amazing.
Meanwhile - I hope you all get your decks, and I hope they do re-print it because I can't pay 45 - 60 for a deck...
