ok i'm ashamed to admit it but here goes... so i'm shopping in a huge corporate bookstore (ugh) and i'm standing in line with some books i'm buying and there on the impulse-buy rack there sits a little box that says tarot on it. so i'm looking at it intrigued and since it's 7.95 i decide it's worth the loss if it's crappy. it was not crappy. it's called "Tarot Kit" and it's credited to Dennis Fairchild http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=2XAQNDMVT9&isbn=0762413824&itm=1 the cards are actually very interesting and though the artwork is a little childish (but fun) the symbolism is deceptively simple and has quite a lot of hidden meaning and profound depth. i would honestly recommend it for anyone to have. it's good because it's not an intimidating deck at all, plus, it's so small that you can carry it around anywhere. although the stock is a little sticky at first. it's a full 78 card deck with astrological and elemental references. the colors are great and there is a wonderful use of animals and quirky artwork. (the knights are all riding an animal on their respective journeys: cups-dolphin, pentacles-turtle) and interestingly enough, the minors are connected to the regular playing deck, clubs-wands, hearts-cups, spades-swords, and diamonds-pentacles. i can hear the naysayers now... but trust me, this deck is worth a look, even (and especially) if you are a serious student. so if you see it on the impulse rack at your local corporate conglomerate, you should risk the 8 bucks, you won't be sorry.

If you look down it the thread you're posted in there's a thread started by Jeanette. It's called Tarot Nova/Jule Paschkis. It's all about that deck. I posted a few things in there yesterday. I hope you find it. I have that deck to but in a really little version. I'd like to get the bigger one. Only $7.95 sounds like a bargain. Nameste

It is indeed a delightful deck. And there is such a lovely feeling coming upon a great little deck like that all unexpectedly. There is already one review of it on aeclectic, but have you thought of adding your own review? Because your post has really caught the freshness of this deck.
