Yippee! I have satisfied my urge for a new deck. After spending over an hour in Borders, I have arrived home with two shiney new decks. I couldnt choose between Waking the Wild Spirit tarot and the Witches tarot, so I got 'em both, lol.

Waking the wild spirit literally lept off the shelf, its bright colourful images seemed to pull me in straight away. I love decks that get me to think about tarot in a new way, and I also a keen gardner, so I think I am going to love working with this!

The Witches Tarot was a more difficult choice. I had origionally set out to find the Robin Wood deck, but it wasnt on the shelves today...I have felt for a while that I would like to do some work with a rider waite based deck that had replaced the juedo/christian imagery with more pagan themes. Also, I like tarot with a dark side..so as this is a little darker than Robin Wood, I am hopeing it is going to suit me.

Anyway, off to explore my new decks! I will let you know how I get on,

cjtarot, think you are right, I have passed the 10 deck mark, lol, tarotholicism has set in!

Absolutly delighted with waking the wild spirit!

But the witches tarot just didnt make sense to me, and some of those muscle bound pentacles were just plain scary! Went back to borders this morningh and exchanged it for Voyager.....much better :)

Waking the Wild Spirit and Voyager are both beautiful decks. Several members here (myself included) have found the Witchy Tarot disappointing. I find Voyager a constant delight -- hope that you'll be very happy with both of your purchases.

You know, I had the same reaction to the Witches Tarot. It wasn't really what I'd expected/hoped it to be. I ended up choosing not to get it too, after looking through it at a new age shop (where you can examine every deck before buying). Btw, Borders may let you look at decks before buying them; at least the one I go to does.
