I just saw the pocket edition of the Goddess Tarot at Chapters today. It took an extreme amount of willpower to just walk away. Does anyone have this little deck? I have the regular size deck and love it but I have to admit that I was a wee disappointed when I first opened the box. The colours of the cards were not as vibrant as they appeared here and at Kris's website. As beautiful as they are, I wish they weren't so muted. That's the reason I walked away. That's why I'm hoping someone here has the pocket edition and can let me know if the colours of the cards are nice and bright?

Hi, Wildchild!
I've seen this one too and have also had to steel myself to walk away! I haven't given in and bought it yet but I daresay it's only a matter of time.
I agree that the muted colouring is a bit disappointing but that hasn't stopped me getting good readings with this deck and I've found it does appeal to many querents if given a choice of decks.
I suspect somehow that the colouring is going to be just the same as the large deck but maybe someone can put us right on that.

I have the pocket edition & the colors are paler & more muted than the regular
edition.

Wildchild,
I came across this deck again at lunchtime today and decided that (a) it was payday and (b) it couldn't be coincidence, so I got it.
Fraid I have to confirm what DreamDancer has found - although under normal electric light I couldn't see any difference: however, under the spotlight the Pocket deck is definitely a couple of tones more muted.

Found this review at Tarot Passages:

She has a comparison of the regular deck and the pocket sized deck. The border of the smaller deck looks a bit lighter but the center picture looks a bit darker. Maybe it's just my screen!
I'm thinking I might buy this one afterall. I love my regular size Goddess. Ok...I'm going to wait until next month. Chapters is having a members appreciation night & everything will be 20% off. I think I might be able to wait until then.

Just a note for anyone in Canada buying tarot decks. Occasionally, Chapters offers a huge 30% discount on some decks if you buy them online, plus if you buy over $39 they have free shipping.
I noticed this with the Navigators of the Mystic SEA deck. It is regularly $46 and Chapters Online had it for $32. I ended up paying more and buying it from a tarot shop that I mail order from because I wanted to show some support when I actually visited the physical store, but keep Chapters in mind if you can buy online.
The Pocket Goddess isn't on sale but the regular sized deck with the book is on for 30% off if you buy inline. Considering the high prices we pay in Canada for decks and books, this is a good deal.

Just couldn't resist...I thought I could just take a peek in Chapters today. I walked out of there with the Pocket Goddess. I think I could like this deck more than the full sized version. I found the colours much more clearer and sharper. Everything seems to be a shade darker. Some of the images are a little harder to make out the details but that's because the cards are smaller. I found the sharper colours actually brings out more of the background details than the larger deck.
Yeah, I love it! :)
