Has anyone ever seen eclectic tarot? Almost all the decks that you guys talk about are unknown to me. But, of course, I know only ONE store in my town where they offer more than 5 decks of tarot cards :o(. I came across eclectic tarot more than a year ago and it's simply amazing. Especially Major Arcana are beautiful. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone uses it.

Hi Agathe!

Here's the URL listing all the decks that are available to the public at this point:
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/list.html
You'll find all of the ones talked about somewhere on the list, it's alphabetical to make them easy to find.

Stores usually only carry about 5-15 different types of decks, so a person has to look around to find ones that they really do like. This list really helps.

I don' thave the Eclectic deck, but I'm sure someone here does.

Hello Agathe

Do you mean Joseph Mychenka's Eclectic tarot? Yes it is beautiful, the majors especially. The deck is very thoughtfully conceived, not just dashed out quickly, and gives the impression that the artist knows a lot about numerology. I wasn't able to connect well with it though, so I have it up for trade at the moment.

I have never seen a reading done with this deck and would be very interested to see one. Do you use the meanings given in Mychenka's LWB or do you have another system?

I have the Eclectic, and some of the Majors are really great
(The Moon, Judgement, and Death) specially.
Honestly, I didnīt like the Minors and the cardboard (itīs very thick), and
I havenīt been able to read with it. Also my lwb came in german
so I donīt know which system does the author uses.
Itīs a deck that I didnīt trade because of the Majors and it
just complements my collection.

But I wouldīnt make it one of my first choices.

I found a link. A beautiful deck. Majors based on the Oswald Wirth Tarot, it seems. The Minors look stunning and very intelligently worked out.

How you must enjoy your readings with this wonderful deck, Agathe! :)

If anyone wants to trade this deck with me for something, just drop me a PM.

Edited to add: Oh I just re-read Myrrha's post! Please let us PM each other on this. I would dearly love to have it.

I'm really sorry I've never posted anything back :o( buuu.
I do have this deck at home and use it constantly. It is my favourite and Diana, you're right, I do enjoy my readings with them :o). It's just one Wonderful deck of Tarot cards.
And Myrrha, I use his meanings from time to time. Mine are slightly different.

Sorry once again guys, for not writing here.

Take care,
Agathe.

I picked this deck up on ebay. I think the colours of the deck are lovely vibrant but not garish.
It must also have my favourite death card ever: a grim reaper and a dark sky, but then also the sun shining through the dark clouds (like you can have just after a thunderstorm) and a rainbow. So there is hope and a new beginning, but only after the pain - it is not that fluffy "it is just transformation" card but it is also not total despair, you already see the new beginning.
The minors are non-scenic and I am still "playing" with them a bit - arranging them in rows to see differences between them etc.
The lwb is not too bad. It has a description for the majors and the courts but not for the minors. I would have liked there to be a bit more on the minors, what made him draw them the way he did.
The deck is not available everywhere but not (yet) hard to find or expensive. And the lady I bought it from flattened the box and put the cards + flattened box inside a priority envelope for $ 5 shipping costs (worldwide) so that wasn't too bad.
I think I'll enjoy using this deck :)

I just, this morning, picked up the Eclectic Tarot on ebay. It was on my want list, and I'd collected images from it, and read various reviews, including the one by Mark Filipas ... now I just can't wait for it to arrive in the post.

mythos - who is feeling very impatient
