My Amazon.com order arrived today---I ran home to lunch to pick it up.
The cards alone with the little white book is tantalizing in stores. The deck/book set lacks a little white book, which I miss, since it is handy for carrying around.
I am glad that I traded away many different decks to get Amazon.com credits for this deck from my trade partners. This book and deck is worth the price, especially because of the interesting background. The translator seems to have done a great job from my initial speed-read.
I have not seen Riccardo's name on this set...but I am certain that his professionalism and contact with English speaking fans and reviewers with the Fey and Visconti set also set high standards for other English translations. The storytelling approach and mix of esoteric history and ideas go well with this long-standing path and charming mythology...and as an added bonus, the original Compte St. Germain line drawings for the majors and the initiate's journey is illustrated, along with Sylvana Alasia's illustrations for comparisons.
Beautiful. It doesn't need gilding, it's a beautiful presentation and will give me many hours of pleasure and fun.
I plan to review as soon as I can.
