Erotic / Sexy Tarot Decks: suggestions wanted

I know there must be a thread like this somewhere, but heck if I can find it.

Can anyone recommend some "good" (yes, I know that is subjective) erotic tarot decks? I've seen the Erotic Tarot online. Not that crazy about it. Also checked out two others that I forget the name of, but they were more with a sci-fiction slant, which I'm not a big fan of.

Actually, I know I saw one a while back that caught my eye... and I'd like to come across it again. Damn short-term memory. :)

thanks in advance, joya

hi Redwood,

Hmmm, is the Manara also referred to as the Erotic Tarot? I just saw this one online. Actually, it was viewing this deck that made me curious to find others.

The Casanova deck is interesting. I'd love to see more cards. I'll have to investigate this further. I would say (from the 6 cards displayed) that it has a more subdued, romantic feel -- rather than being exceedingly racy. (Can't say I understand what is going on in the Magician card... what is he doing? Strangling her? Putting a necklace around her neck? Performing Reiki??)

thanks for your suggestions.

There is the Decameron. You can see some of the cards here: http://www.astroamerica.com/t-deca.html

It is naughty in a fun way. I've actually got my copy up for trade, but that doesn't mean it's a bad deck; it's just not right for me.

cool. thanks for your suggestions... I may end up having to get more than one deck of this sort. heh heh

i believe that www.themysticeye.com has more scans.
(Like silverlotus I have the manara up for trade..nice deck. Just not something I can use)

How about Tarot Sutra? Is anyone familiar with that one?

joya250  26 Nov 2003
hi mzmystic,

I actually forgot I had that deck!

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it is basically the standard Rider Waite deck with different coloration. A lot of purple, more gradations, and more subdue color in general. The book that accompanies it related the cards to specific sexual/romantic/relationship scenarios.

Personally, it doesn't do it for me. I bought it because I wanted a sexually-charged deck... but this is a little too wishy-washy for me. Okay, a LOT wishy-washy.

But I'm glad you mentioned it -- I'm going to post it up for trade, if anyone wants it!

I've only seen three of the cards:

My vote goes to the Decameron, of all of the erotic decks it has the best balance of men and women, and there is a lot more variety in it than otehr erotic decks... it's also quite wacky.

Hi,

I have the Cassanova and the Decameron. They each have their value.

One of the things I did was buy the Decameron and the book that it was based on. It made it a bit more interesting. I feel more of the cards depict erotic scenes than the Cassanova.

The Cassanova was based on the legend and is interesting, especially if you know a little about the "Man".

I think the key to this kind of deck, figure out what strikes your fancy. Personally, I like the 2 I have because they are more than just erotic.

Blessing and good hunting..

I have 4 (5 if you include the Black): Decameron, Casanova, Manara, Garden of Priapus.

Of these, the Casanova by far is the easiest to read with.

I would recommend the Casanova. Lovely deck. And quite romantic too. ;)

I have 5 decks:

Decameron,
Casanova,
Manara,
Garden of Priapus.
Tarot Erotica

the best one in my opinion is the Tarot Erotica by Lori Wells, the art is stunning, a really beautiful deck. You can see sample cards at tarot garden, trust me this is a fab deck.

I tried ordering the Lori Wells deck from Tarot Garden, but, er, wasn't sure how to go about it! Umbrae?! Help!

mj07  24 Apr 2004
I have the Lori Walls Tarot Erotica and love it! I've gotten some great, indepth readings off of it, it's very challenging. The Decameron, however, I'd consider (IMHO) more of a novelty deck. It's very cute, but I can't read with it!

Just a few thoughts!

i don't think the Tantra Tarot has been mentioned yet? Beautiful majors (sometimes very explicit, but not vulgar - they very much follow the Indian Tantric tradition) but boring, basic minors.

Definitely worth a look if you like this kind of Indian art. I haven't tried reading with it yet though.
