I've been looking for a nice deck featuring faeries, gnomes and these things. I found a lot of different decks, including the famous Fey Tarot (which is really amazing but i've never seen it for sale anywhere :() and one by Antonio Lupatelli (Fairy Tarot) that i found really cute. Since i've never heard anything about it and there is no review here, i want your opinion...what do you think?
And if you know any other fairy-ish decks, please share them with me! I'm still open to new decks and such :)
Thanks
~Yuko

Hi Kurai Yuko,
Does it have to be a Tarot deck? If not I can highly recommend the Faery Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth. The artwork is brilliant and the accompanying book is very well written. She encourages the reader to follow her instructions to read the cards intuitively without using the book meanings until you have to. Theres a study group for this oracle on this site too which would be useful. I just love them!

Thanks, Moonbow. I'd prefer if it was a Tarot deck, but i'll make sure to check this one too! You see, i love fae things...a fae oracle doesn't sound bad at all :)

Hello,
You can get the Fey Tarot from Alida (www.alidastore.com) or from Tarotgarden (www.tarotgarden.com)
If You live in Brazil, if You want I can check if we have the Fey Tarot somewhere there.
Depending on what You are looking for, here are a few differencies (I'm not familiar the "waking the wild spirit Tarot", sorry).
The fey is more materic... the fayries are more solid, more concrete ta the usual epheremeal self. The deck is much more a reding deck (in the conventional sense) than others.
The Gnomes is more funny, more witty, more humorous...
The fairy is the strangest of all as it blends two different charachters... one very XVIII century fairyes and another more similar to the gnomes.
The Tarot of the Hidden folk has breathtakingly majors, but it is a bit weak on the minors. The art is more mature and much less sweet than the others.
Depending on what You desire they are decks going in different directions... :)
Best,
Riccardo
p.s. whispering: the Fey, the Fey!!!!

Hi Kurai Yuko,
I would say stick with the Fey deck. If you can order on line, Tarotgarden has them in stock and they are great to work with. Much more personal than the Alidda store. This is my favorite Fairy deck, because it is more like a Tarot deck than the others I have seen and the artwork is amazing. The expressions on the Fey are done so well, you can feel what they are feeling. If you have the money, the book that goes with the deck is one of the best deck books I have read and is worth getting. I have Waking the Wild Spirit and although I love this deck, it diviates from the traditional meanings a lot.
Good luck deciding!

Hello Kurai,
I have the Lupatelli Fairy Deck, you linked to, and also the Giacinto Gaudenzi deck of many names --"Tarot of the Hidden Folk - Riccardo mentioned (it was formerly named "the Enchanted Tarot" and earlier still named "Tarots of the Golden Dawn"-- I call it the "Mermaid-as-Temperance" Deck).
I enjoy all of them, but the five-star Fey Tarot is really innovative and wonderful to read with. Unlike the other two, the Fey was conceived (by Riccardo and by Mara Aghem) as a 78 card deck, and the artwork for the pips is fully as important (and as innovative) as for the Majors.
I didn't realize there is not a review on this site for the Lupatelli Fairy deck, or even a mention for the Mermaid-as-Temperance Deck. Hmmm... that gives me an idea...

I agree with the other posters who said that The Fey Tarot is the best of these decks. I have owned or seen them all, and that's my opinion.
