after waiting some days (which seemed like months), my chapters.ca order has arrived. i ordered the radiant rider-waite deck (absolutely amazing! very impressed), the light and shadow tarot deck (this decks' art is wonderful, i attempted to do some block printing and i found it rather annoying to do and also dangerous.. i got stabbed numorous times..hahah), and a tiny pocket book about the tarot's symbolism and meanings.
i can't wait to explore...

If you like, here is a thread where you can share your first impressions of the Radiant Rider-Waite.
New decks are always fun! Be careful, though, because tarotholism is always lurking, and next thing you know, you have dozens, if not hundreds, of decks!

You are so...so... right!! Collecting tarot decks is CONTAGIOUS. When I only had one deck I thought long and hard about buying another. Now I come to this site and look at the images of the cards, read what everyone has to say and Wham! before you know it I have another one. The problem is I have so many I really need to find a system for studying them. Any ideas anyone???? I am open to suggestions.
I suppose the answer is to stop collecting but that is so hard. Having other decks and comparing cards does help to understand the meanings.
Anyway, needless to say my Radiant Rider-Waite is eagerly awaited!!!

i was thinking about this earlier..... take a card from 78 different decks, and make up a whole new deck, to see how each different style/art etc, can change the way you interpret a spread.
i think it would be easier to learn that way, because they are all different, and you would remember better.. i think.
i just dont have the money... or the time to find 78 different decks.
it is very addicting. i had one deck and it wasnt so great. the minor arcana wasn't at all detailed and just so vague...horrible for a beginner. so i got the 2 new decks. on this site i learned of the rock and roll tarot.. now that one is incredibly beautiful. i like how they have the lyrics reflecting the card's meaning... i wish i could get my hands on a deck.. but i don't think that's possible..

The Ferrett Tarot arrived at my house on Monday, but I got a bit distracted with a 2 day hospital stay (I'm fine now, just needing to learn to deal with a routine of medicine).
Not only is this deck just downright adorable, it's also signed and numbered!!! Mine's 39/500. And it comes with a bag and a LWB and a condensed "cheat sheet".
At $14.95, this is a good way to begin a collection of independent, self-published decks that are often quite unique and a good way to encourage tarot artists to continue to create works of art.
Still waiting on Titania'a Star Tarot, and the release of the Tarot of Timeless Truth.
And to Jewel-ry: "stop collecting"!!?? What an outrageous thought! No, no, no, no.....no. (tanturm over, now)
Everyone enjoy your new treasures!
