Tarot of the Origins

Does anyone have Tarot of the Origins, and if so, what do you think of it?
I find it quite awesome, though a little bit austere - it's not a deck that I'd ask where I lost my keys this morning, if you know what I mean.
The artwork is beautiful, particularly in the bluewashed Soul (Cups) suit, and the green-tinged Nature (Wands) suit. The Blood (Swords) suit is a bit close to the bone and daunting, but, I guess it's no harm for a deck to have a tough side.
I tried the Stone Circle spread outlined in the LWB, and used just intuition and the meanings given in the book without trying to relate it all to traditional Tarot meanings. It seemed very much to want to talk about spiritual journeys, and had some interesting things to say. This is a deck for 'big', 'deep' issues, methinks.
It struck me that Tarot of the Origins is probably more truly 'Celtic' than many others with their ersatz Celtic fretwork and misspelt Gaelic terminology (sorry - I'll fold up my soapbox in a minute!). It portrays life lived at a primitive level, and yet it seems to show that beauty, art and spirituality can be found even at amidst the most basic difficulties of life.
I'd be interested to hear of others' experiences with this deck.
Blessings,
Kate.

I have not seen this one yet, do you happen to have a link to this deck?

There's info, images, and reviews on the Tarot of the Origins deck right here on Aeclectic:

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/origins/index.html

Also reviews on the Tarot Passages site:

And on Wicce's Tarot site:

So far I have only used the Tarot of the Origins deck in comparative readings (first reading from one deck, then pulling the same cards from the Origins deck). The Origins images are very primal, and provide a fresh perspective on the energies envisioned in the cards. My one complaint is that many of the cards prominently feature people, and I don't always "click" with what the card is trying to portray. The artwork and style is excellent, however.

In case you're interested, I started a thread a few months ago about two of the sub-themes in the Tarot of the Origins deck:

- Places and Structures
- The Hunt

Thanks for the link to the thread, Rusty Neon - I did search but didn't turn that up - think my searching skills need honing.
I don't have the deck here with me (I post from work, 'cos I don't have online access at home at the moment), but your impressions look really thoughtful and interesting, so I'm going to print it all out, and take it home to mull over, deck in hand.
Thanks for your replies also Strange2 and Majecot.
More anon...

Blessings,
Kate.
