Hi everyone I just answered a thread about which cards I am using over Christmas and said that I had brought the Cosmic tribe home to my parents. There was so much spoken about this deck before I left for university in the Summer but it doesn't seem as popular now (makes me think of another thread I just read about cards and fashion). I also noticed that the CT study group is no longer active. Does anybody here still use this as their primary deck? I am home for a good three weeks, trying to get bonded with the tribe, so if anybody else out there is doing the same, get in touch. I look forward to discussing them with you. Best wishes Yaboot

That would be me! :D I still love this deck. It is my 'heart deck'; the one that comforts me, cheers me up, that I use to clarify the things I worry about in the dark of night. It's a pity the study group has been retired. Perhaps we can work a fashion revival for this rich and deep deck? ;)

Hey Hedera!!!! We'll have to get together on this one. I am so loving being with the tribe again. You probably have much more experience with it than I do ... you'll have to let me pick your brains LOL. I am only doing a card a day at the moment. How are you working with the tribe? Yaboot

I _love_ this deck! It has been awhile since I have used it to read, but I often look through it and admire the images. It's also a deck that I want to give to a friend who is just venturing into Tarot. He has attended our Tarot Circle and has been exposed to a variety of decks. The Cosmic Tribe has intrigued him a few times. But, I notice that the deck is not as easy to find as it used to be. Border's has carried it for at least 2 years, but I have not seen it for awhile. (Their Tarot case is not overflowing, either, so I don't think they have dropped it to make room for newer decks). The shop I teach in has not had it for awhile either. Think I'll mention it to the owners. Asher

The Cosmic Tribe is my favorite deck. I've only had it for a few months now but I use this deck all the time. I have 9 cards left to meditate on and to write about, but I'm sure my study of this deck will continue for quite some time. I actually subscribed to Aeclectic because I wanted to join the study group for this deck... I didn't realize that it was no longer active. I would love to join in discussions about it. :cool: ultraviolet

Pick away, LOL! Welcome back by the way, Yaboot! It's good to see you here again, this place hasn't been the same without you. Although you'll probably disappear again shortly? Right now I'm the same as Asher, more or less. I don't do much reading at all at the moment, but I keep looking through the cards. Even after all the time I've spent with them, there are two or three that keep puzzeling me (like the 6 of disks and the 4 of cups) and that the book isn't much help on. But I still do the occasional spread with them. It's become my 'mental deck' more or less (along with a basterdized version of the RWS) so that when a spread with another deck isn't clear, I can sort of imagine how it would 'sound' with the CT. I also like to use it to meditate with. I do that more often than reading, actually. These cards are really great for that; the colours and the clarity of the images just seem to push straight into my subconscious. Asher, what you said about the availability worries me! My copy is beginning to look rather tattered, and I've been thinking about getting a new one. I would prefer to get it without the book though, and that seems to be impossible. But perhaps I should hurry up and buy a set while I still can! Btw, rumour has it that in the foreseeable future there will be an interview with Stevee Postman on Aeclectic..... Ultraviolet, just saw your post! Please, feel free to share what you have written (I, for one, would LOVE to read it!) in the 'general' forum, or here, or where ever. I think it's time the study group got revived!

The book is great but I do find some of the interpretations hard to aply. So far, I have been just reading with my intuition and my own interpretation of what feels right. It has been working and the messages have been so clear. As I said to Asher, while I am about maybe we can either post them in the general section or pm each other. I am sure the general section would be ok. i have read through the archives but have exausted them and a lot of the cards that i have difficulty understanding ganthers interpretations are not in those threads. it would be helpful to get some other views. Look forward to hearing from you guys Yaboot

Yes, it would be great to have some threads on the minors. Those are, IMHO, more challenging than the majors. I've thought about beginning a thread on the aces, to start with, but I was being cowardly, and then the study forum got archived, so....:( But there's no reason why we couldn't start posting in the general study forum, I think! Wheee, I'm getting all excited all over again at the thought of discussing the deck! :)

Hi all I would love to share some of my ideas and journal writings. I am new to learning tarot and this is the first deck that I learned to read with, so my interpretations are not colored by more traditional meanings (not that it's any better, just different :) ). I will definitely join in any discussions... I'm not really an initiator, though, so whatever structure is fine with me. I'm looking forward to it! ultraviolet

I just got this deck and cracked it open. haven't read a single thing with it, only looked through it a few time and read some about the Queens. I would love to participate in a study group on CT. It might be a little dicey for me because I am still in the midst of my first pass on general major arcana study, and by just glancing through this deck I might say it doesn't quite follow the standard line (Spiral is my primary study deck). So I am sure to be confused :-) It's ok though, I figure EVENTUALLY I will get things sorted out right?? Anyway, I will keep my eye out for study groups and treads on this. I am excited there are others who want to delve into it as well. Kelar

I got this deck a few days ago, and I must say that I love it a lot. Although some of the images can be bold, most are soothing and natural . The cards themselves are not as strong or glossy as many others, but I still think it is a lovely deck because of the striking images. I started picking a card a day, but when I wanted to do a reading at the same time I put that card back and shuffled the whole deck, and stopped reading the one card ritual. So what I do now is learn through 'experimental' spreads, as the book has some very intersting descriptions of each card, in a comforting tone and it is a pleasant read . I have a feeling that this deck will always be one of my all time favorites.
