It looks as though the deck is going the gorgeous. I love what I have seen thus far. Definitely one to add to the collection and if what I see at this point continues thru the entirety of the deck, this one may becoming one for reading. I have several I just enjoy owning that I do not read... ie; The Halloween Deck... which I think is adorable:)

probably don't do it justice.
Edited later: Yes, one does DEFINITELY look prettier with the better lighting. I saw the box cover and can see the tempera painting has much more detail and rich pigment variation.
Some of the majors and minor scans came out really shadowy in comparison, I bet it was just hard to replicate the richness.
The original drawings are incredible.
Sometimes I've seen original drawings full of life and light then someone transfers the graphite as a layout and 'colors' in their work using another media. However, from the graphite drawings and what I see of the box cover, it looks beautiful throughout.
Thanks again for the link. I'm bookmarking the progress of this deck...October 2004 was one projected date on a website with the boxcover.

THANKS Tygr Eyes!!!
I just added the Druid Craft Tarot to my ever-growing Wish List!!!

Does anyone else besides me find the b/w sketches more interesting than the finished coloured work? I would LOVE a deck consisting of these sketches, uncoloured . . .
Well, even coloured it looks pretty good.
Only . . . only . . . Well, the theme is great (I've been looking for a really superb wiccan deck, without *absolute* success, for awhile now . . . ) but I sort of wish I hadn't seen the b/w sketches at all, since I do prefer them to the finished product--
Oh, well. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this point.

I can't find anywhere on the web to buy it. I found it's ISBN, though - 0312315023. According to Bookfinder.com it's in print but none of the 60,000 stores it searches has it to sell. :o( I was being really good about being patient & not obsessing over it, but now that I've gotten a "whiff" that it's out there I'm ANXIOUS! Patience, patience, patience - they say it's a virtue, you know. :oP

I love how they show both the b/w and the final coloured version on the website. Difficult to choose between them, but I think I would still prefer the coloured version - so I'm lucky ;)
TigrEyes: the deck is printed in UK, so maybe it will not be in the US bookshops. I checked Amazon.co.uk and it said you can pre-order, it will be available October 30th (but as Maan already saw it, it could be sooner) Maybe the deck is not yet in shops but only available at fairs and festivals for the moment.
I think the website that shows the deck will also sell it - they have a bookshop with books and decks on druidry and such.

I am also looking forward to this deck. I think it could become a very personal deck to me. It has the warm colours the Ancestral Path has as well, but I think the Druidcraft may become even more personal for me as it centers on the old western culture I come from, while the AP has different cultures in its deck.
The druidcraft does not look dark to me...I'll have to see what it looks like when I can have all the cards in my hands.

I guess there is something mysterious about these images.... that make me feel there is a "dark" side to them. Not dark as in "dark" colors or anything sinister....just shadowy, deep.....
Anyway, I think darkness is probably in the eye of the beholder, right??? ;) One thing is certain...this deck does elicit a very strong, emotional and spiritual response in me....I agree with you in that this is going to be a very special, personal deck for me as well!!!

I am really looking forward to this deck, I love the artist's work. Will Worthington also painted the Druid Animal Oracle (with Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm) and the Green Man Tree Oracle (with John Matthews). He is apparently Pendragon of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.
I found his site here http://www.crissiam.demon.co.uk/frameset.html - there are prints available from the Druid Animal Oracle (tempted). I wonder if he will also have prints of the tarot cards?

LunaKasha, I'm so happy to see you & other people as excited about this Tarot as I am! I'm of Northern European descent as well & feel very drawn to the images I've seen. I just left a message on the OBOD message board asking if they know when it will be out & who the publisher is. I also told them about this site, included a link, & mentioned how I'd love for someone "official" to send scans to Solandia if they saw my message. Keep your fingers crossed & I'll let you know if they reply.

TygrEyes, I was curious and just had a look at the message board...you are mentioned as the newest member now :) I am not subscribed but I had a bit of a look around - they have a forum called The Pub sounds like my place LOL and lots of lovely avatars (don't you have one yet ;) )
Now I hate to say this but the sites I found that listed the druid craft gave publication date October 31st. And I could not find the publisher either. I don't expect it to be US Games, the author often uses smaller publishers that specialise in nature/spirituality and such.
Hope you soon get a reply TygrEyes

Wolfspirit, I'm glad you found that date. I didn't see it anywhere in my searches. The response I got from another member was that it's Oct. 04. I KNOW THAT! At least now I know not to get my hopes up for the beginning of Oct. I guess I'll have to be patient for an extra MONTH! I'm an Aries so patience is something I'm always working on. I'm still hoping to see clearer scans somewhere. The Empress looks crystal clear, whereas the Princess of Swords and a couple others look blurry to me, do they to anyone else?

Well, TygrEyes....I am a most impatient Taurean myself, hehehe!!!

Waaaaa! The Druidcraft Tarot is available in the UK now, but won't be in the US until 4/05. No biggie, you can order through the OBOD book shop. Well, that is if you don't get an error message like I did when I tried to order it. I couldn't even get into the Book shop, let alone order. I got the notification that it's out & they include an order form you can print out & fax or mail. I just might have to do the fax thing if the book shop problem doesn't get fixed pretty quickly.

The e-mail I got from them just said it was released in the UK. I don't know if it's only available from their website right now & that's what they mean. Someone on their message board said it arrived in the office. There seems to be a $12 difference in what Amazon says & the e-mail said, but if you get it through the OBOD book shop it comes with a book plate signed by the author & artist.
Here's the e-mail I received:
AT LAST!!
AFTER YEARS IN THE MAKING THE DRUIDCRAFT TAROT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN
THE UK.
The set will not be published in the USA until April 2005, but you can
order a set now directly from us! With a bookplate signed by the
authors and artist!
Ten years ago Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm and Will Worthington came
together to create The Druid Animal Oracle. Now they have combined
their talents and insights once again to create a stunningly beautiful
deck. The 78 exquisitely designed cards, painted in tempera, achieve a
depth of feeling and artistic quality rarely seen in contemporary Tarot
sets, while the accompanying manual breaks new ground in exploring the
Tarot and its relationship to both Druidry and Wicca, tracing some of
the earliest roots of the Tarot to the tales of the Bards, and the
numerology of Pythagoras taught by the Druids in their Sacred Groves.
The boxed set includes all cards of the Major & Minor Arcana, together
with a 192 page book which reveals the way in which we can use the
Tarot to deepen our spiritual lives and our practice of Druidry.
You can order the set from wherever you live in the world by visiting
the Order’s bookshop on the web at http://druidry.org
Alternatively you can print this form out and mail or fax it to Annie,

Hi Moonbow*
Are you on the list to be notified when it's out? I've just had my e-mail notification too. It says it can only be ordered directly from the OBOD bookshop at http://druidry.org. I recently ordered the Rune Tarot by Caroline Smith and yes it took a few days for them to process the order, but it was sent within a week and a half. The October 21 date on Amazon.com in the UK--hopefully it won't change. The description said Paperback so I wasn't certain if this was the book and deck together.
Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for that link TigrEyes - very informative.
Now I had read that the paintings were made with tempera, for which egg yolk is one of the ingredients. It was probably conserved thanks to the added minerals ?? Anyway, makes me glad we will only get a copy so that is not one of our worries :D
And the Dutch people mentioned in the interview, Jurre and Agnes Yntema, have a tarot practice in a small town closeby, they mainly give tarot workshops and courses and informal evenings. At the moment they are doing workshops with the Dali Tarot, but I will check if they do something with the Druid craft. That would be awesome. If I have a chance to go there some time I will surely ask them.

Ooh, mine has come from OBOD *dances with joy* I swear I almost kissed the postie when he handed it to me! I'm not good at writing reviews or anything but since so many of you are waiting patiently I thought I would share a few initial thoughts :)
It is very drool worthy! The cards are a bit bigger then I thought- same height and just a tad thinner than the large Thoth cards. They have a nice smooth feel and shuffle really well- well, if you have the right hand size for them ;)
I haven't looked through all of them but I have loved all the images I have seen- the artwork really brings the characters and situations to life. I like the changes that they have made of the ones I have seen so far- they fit really well with the theme of the deck without losing aspects of the original cards.
The cards have no box or bag, so you are going to have to get something for them- I know I will be! They come tucked into a box with the book on top. The book is a fair size- nearly 200 pages and it isn't a small book either- good value! It starts with short introductions to tarot, Wicca, druidry, Celtic myth, and the 'outer mysteries'- court cards and Minors, before going into page a card descriptions for both. Then there is an introduction to the 'inner mysteries'- The Majors, and then we get longer descriptions for these cards. Each card seems to have a general overview, upright and reversed meanings, and some keywords. Then the last part describes ways to use the deck- a blessing and dedication ritual and some spreads.
So that is an overview of the set- they had run out of that 'Mysts of Avalon' CD so it came with another one which, as a member of OBOD, I had been thinking of getting before so I'm pretty happy :) There is also a bookplate signed by Will, Phillip and Stephanie that you can stick in the book if you want, or put away safely if you prefer.
My first impressions are that this is a beautiful deck that really blends the theme of druidry and druidcraft with the structure and ideas of the Tarot :) And as a tarot enthusiast, witch, and someone just starting on the path of druidry it really is up my street!
Edit: Card changes are:
The Empress- The Lady
The Emperor- The Lord
The Hierophant- The High Priest
Wheel of Fortune- The Wheel
Temperance- The Fferyllt
The Devil- Cernunnos
Judgement- Rebirth
Court Cards are King, Queen, Prince and Princess :)

Oh, boy. Since I live on the other side of the "pond" there's no chance I'll get it this week. I ordered on the 9th. What CD did you get, Kaylee? I went back to their ordering page & I notice it doesn't say anything about getting a CD w/ a book purchase anymore. I thought I'd "update" you guys on that since I mentioned the CD in an earlier post. I expect to get one, though, since when I ordered it said that. Thanks for the heads up, Kaylee! :o)

I got the Barddas II CD- it is listed in the shop at £12.99 so it is pretty good value to get it for free- I already have a couple of the songs off it on another album so I knew I would probably quite like this compilation :) It goes pretty well with the druid tarot- will definitely get you in the mood!

My deck arrived from OBOD today-that's 7 or 8 days after ordering. Opening it was a real pleasure-the sheer quality of the cards, the deep love and attention to detail that has gone into each and every card AND into the book.
Devotees of the Druid Animal Oracle may find The Wildcat on the Queen of Wands card !
If you are reading this, Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm and Will Worthington, thank you, thank you. The wait has been worth it..

i received my deck and book yesterday, having placed the order on the 9th- so it only took 5 days! anyone out there who's dithering about whether to order this deck, what are you waiting for!!!!!! i went into ecstacy looking at my cards for the very first time!! they are even better than i had envisaged in my mind- the attention to detail is fantastic, but the scenes the cards are set in and the brooding skies depicted make this a really atmospheric deck. my favourite card is the hermit, but that may well change on a regular basis!i don't know much about druidry but i'm looking forward to reading the book and learning about the changes to the cards in order to represent their traditions. my first draws ( 7 wands and 7 swords were interesting, based on the question,"what kind of relationship will i have with my new deck?"),and i'm really looking forward to becoming more familiar with it. a vivid, enchantingly drawn deck, well done to all concerned! love wendy xx

I am enjoying all the UK reports and the lucky U.S. early report of this deck.
My question is does the book give a wheel of the year correspondence -- season, sabbat, etc. and suggestions for any meditative practises? I am so glad it has animals in the deck as well...and nature scenes.
I thought the Hallowquest book and King Arthur deck was wonderful for including a few animals and natural scenes and sabbats...I haven't replaced this book-deck until I find a good set with Celtic leanings and something fresh to me.
Any news and more ohhs and ahhs are very interesting to me--lots of time good information comes up in how people enjoy their new deck.
I am especially awaiting TygerEyes reaction.
Best wishes,

I can't wait to see my own reaction, b/c that would mean I actually have them in my hot little hands! When I first saw the site the Empress just bowled me over. She's so earthly gorgeous - the dress, it's color, the bundle of wheat & the overflowing cornucoppia. Sitting there on the wood throne w/ the waters of life on one side & what looks to me like life's blood flowing from under her throne. I just noticed in the last day or so that there's a little stone "empress" in the bottom left of the photo. From the scans I've seen on the site the people look more connected to the earth in their dress & surroundings. I was interested in Native American spirituality at one time b/c of their closeness to nature & animals, but that's not my culture. It's nice to see a part of my ancestry in their earlier times w/ the close connection to nature that we once had as a culture.
P.S. The animals was the reason why I bought the Hallowquest as well. :o)

It's been a nice surprise, realizing that this deck could be ordered from OBOD before the general release date. So I ordered it, and it came on Friday. Now Friday is not the best day for decks to arrive, because I get very little time at the weekend to savour them, but I sat down right away, autumn sun pouring through window, and really did get lost in these cards for an hour or so.
What can I say ? The artwork is superb-bright but not garish colours, a real sensitivity to landscape and beasts (as one would expect from a fully-fledged Druid, of course !), and some interesting interpretations-the Wheel of Fortune, for instance.
I haven't read much of the book yet, but it is as intelligently and thoughtfully written as the book that goes with the Druidic Animal Oracle.
If you are looking forward to this deck, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I must say, from a artistic standpoint, it is by far one of THE most beautiful decks I have ever seen!!! It may very well become my favorite deck, but it will have to knock Tarot of Prague off to do that and I have not spent enough time with it as of yet to be able to say that. But is has knocked off Shapeshifter from my second favorite for sure.
The cards are big, like Victoria Regina big.......and the paintings.....you can appreciate the 5 years worth of work that went into those cards.....

I'm happy to hear the positive thoughts, BUT has anyone in the US ordered from the OBOD & gotten their deck yet? It's driving me crazy. I'm NOT a good waiter & I ordered the first day you could! I'm trying really hard not to e-mail them to inquire. What they charged for shipping seemed to be in line w/ what I paid for airmail delivery for a couple of items I bought from people in the UK in the last month. I thought I would have it by now. :o(

Hi TygrEyes,
I'm in NY and have had my deck for a couple of weeks. I can't remember exactly how long it took to get here, but it was under a month...maybe 3 weeks. It was worth the wait as I'm loving this deck. I'm not druid and have never been very interested in that path (although, as I understand it, Druidcraft is druidism and Wicca combined), but this deck is beautiful and anyone who knows RWS will have an easy time with it. And the book is excellent too!
If it's been a month and you still don't have it, I'd contact them and check just to make sure.

I spent some time with it last night. Just going through the cards again. It's quite lovely, and quite individual. The people are really neat. And it's just gorgeous of course. I'm already thinking about a bag for it.
Summerdream, if you get down here for the next Tarot Circle, you can look at it. The minors are illustrated. I actually used the four of swords to get into meditative mode last night, and it worked quite well. I was able to enter the card easily, and look around at the landscape. Fascinating and fabulous!
I used that card to calm my thoughts and to enter into the Ace of Cups for the Universal Waite. The Druidcraft ace/cups is quite lovely, but the U.W. one keeps appearing to me lately.

...because you did use manual facsimile means when their website is down. I just checked abebooks.com, did email and an English site suggested they could order and then have an estimated delivery of 10/13/04 if someone ordered today. That's within two-three weeks.
So if Druidcraft Tarot from the U.K. to the U.S. is similar to my Runic Tarot from Amazon.com, it should be within a few weeks. There's no harm in calling or emailing right now if others you know of in the U.S. that there are others receiving shipment.
Just explain your delighted eagerness at this lovely set and the hope to review it soon...and just note down a few details of payment so they can identify your transaction...it's perfectly acceptable that someone would just want to confirm their order.
My best wishes and hope that you do receive this soon. I know what it is to wait for something wonderful for a long, long time...

I e-mailed the OBOD & they sent it out on 9/16 & she was surprised I hadn't gotten it yet. She asked me to wait one more week & if it hasn't arrived by then they'll send me another one. Actually, I'll be waiting 2 more weeks b/c I'll be on vacation 10/9 - 10/16. I'm hoping contacting her yesterday means I'll get it today. Sometimes I'll wait for something, I just can't wait one more day to investigate & then the next day it'll show up. I guess the waiting will make it that much sweeter when I get it. I've been waiting since Dec. '03 for it to be released. I suppose a couple more weeks won't kill me.
Yay, Sulis! I was wondering how long you'd be able to hold out. :o)

I have been spending some time with my new DruidCraft deck and book, and wanted to let people know that this deck will definitely be worth waiting for. The artwork is just incredible....the colors used, the symbolism, attention to detail....it is breathtaking to look at, I find myself getting completely lost in these images. I will post attachments of some of my favorite cards in future posts, for those of you still undecided or just eager to see more....
The book is also very well-written and comprehensive....I have not read through all of it yet, but the beginning chapters give some history of the Druidry and Wicca traditions, as well as how both are associated with tarot. There are some interesting charts that incorporate tarot with the five elements as well as the eight sabbats...or seasonal cycle. In the back of the book there is a blessing ceremony and several spreads to try (which I have not used yet).
The middle of the book goes into detail on interpretation of each card--one full page for each minor and three pages each for the majors. Again, very well-written and informative. My only complaint would be that there is not a lot of information given on the specific symbolism used in the cards....there is some, but I would have liked to have seen more. My overall impression of the book is that it will be very useful in my work with these cards.
Yes, another very satisfied customer here!!! :D:D:D

Here it is, TygrEyes.....
Cernunnos replaces the Devil in this deck; here is an excerpt from the book:
We have renamed the card Cernunnos, after the horned god of fertility, because in Druidry and Wicca the powers of the animal, instinctual, sexual and material worlds are not considered evil. In fact, they represent the very forces which govern life on earth in all its abundance. He is Lord of the Underworld, as Gwynn ap Nudd, who leads the Wild Hunt, and who is responsible for culling in order to preserve the species. So he represents fierceness and the powers of life--and hence, sexuality and death.
This card really creeps me out....but I like it!!!;)

Takes some getting used to, but I think I like this Cernunnos.
In many nature-based/pagan decks Cernunnos looks more like a fun-loving guy with antlers. This Cernunnos is less positive, as the devil is not all positive - can be dangerous as well.
I will soon order the deck too :)

I agree that he's quite intimidating looking, but another angle occured to me. Since he's concerned w/ the material & furtherance of the species, maybe he's keeping guard over the spent, unaware couple. They are at their most vulnerable. Is he glaring down at them or out at us in warning not to "mess" w/ his High Priestess & Priest. Hmm.
BTW, I'm still waiting to contemplate them in person. Ugh, I know it's the mail service. I'm waiting for a couple other things that should have gotten to me by now.

I agree....he does seem to be keeping an eye on them, not necessarily a bad thing, especially given his role as guardian over humankind.

I GOT IT! I'm SO happy I get to take it on vacation w/ me. It's gorgeous. There was a post in Talking Tarot, I believe, about how some decks look better as scans - well, the Druid Craft looks even better in person! I love the pentacles suit. I always look for the 9 of Pents. & the one from this deck is my favorite. I think the lady & the hawk look like buddies taking a walk & surveying her property. I don't know if this will make much sense to those of you who haven't seen it yet, but the art is intricate without feeling busy; open, yet not empty. I think it'd be a great beginner's deck. Excuse me while I go update the favorite deck section of my profile! Yee-haw!

Yes, it follows the Wheel of the Year. There's a diagram w/ three circles - the Outer Mysteries/World = Minor Arcana numbered cards; the Inner Mysteries/World = Major Arcana; & between the two are the Court Cards. Here's an excerpt:
"...depicted within the 'Inner Mysteries' of the Major Arcana, the Universe is born into the world of time and space, depicted in the cards of the Minor Arcana (the 'Outer Mysteries'). Here, the pip cards travel from the moment of the year's birth at the Winter Solstice through the journey of the seasons, while the court cards depict the sixteen different personality types that the soul can use to function in the outer world."

I am not sure, but I think danubhe is wondering if the DruidCraft will become very popular, then go out of print and become even MORE sought after....but I could be wrong of course, hehehe!!!
Because the DruidCraft is being distributed by a relatively small publisher (ie not US Games or Llewellyn), I also wonder how long this deck will remain in print....it is a lovely and unique deck, so I am sure that it could become *the next Greenwood* when/if it becomes unavailable.....
So I guess that only means one thing 13thFae:

O no...now the Greenwood ghost is out of the bottle...it will be hovering in this forum urging people to buy and buy and buy some more...
I doubt if this deck will go the same way though. The Greenwood is a bit quirky - I think Druid Craft follows traditional tarot more and has more consistent artwork. I expect it will attract a wider public to begin with.
The artist also made the Druid Animal Oracle and the Green Man Tree Oracle, and both are still widely available. Maybe they are not distributed everywhere in the USA, but they are certainly available here.
But if it should become rare I am sure I will have a copy by then, simply because I can't wait that long ;)

Hi Summerdream,

When it didn't arrive yesterday I e-mailed them and they assured me that they had my order and were about to dispatch it - I don't think they rush things over at OBOD ;)

Hi Sulis,
I'm in a similar position; I ordered ages ago (mid-September, I think), and didn't get a confirmation e-mail either. Yet I'm sure I completed the whole ordering process properly. I thought it the delay might be post-related in my case (especially since a Thoth deck I bought from Amazon.co.uk recently took six weeks to get to me in Dublin). But now I'm beginning to wonder what OBOD are up to ... :(
Edited to add: Oops, I double-posted somehow.

Even if it is reasonably traditional, what I've seen of it still suggests to me that it is quite unusual; I'm sure it's gonna go out of print at some point, & when it does, it's gonna increase a *lot* in value, especially since it's such a small publisher. Wow, I'm impressed :D :D :D
I've been a little worried since ordering this deck. I have 2 decks which I use all the time - The Morgan Greer and The World Spirit - other decks I buy just never seem to come close to these. I don't buy many decks, I don't consider myself a collector and all this talk of big cards has been worrying me.
It arrived this morning in a huge padded envelope and oh it's just gorgeous. I think this one will definately be a user. The cards aren't as large as I feared, the colours are just beautiful and the images themselves are lovely. What I need now is a bag to put my new friend in, something earthy I think.
The book looks very well written as well - the whole package is impressive.
I'm very, very pleased. To everyone who's considering buying this deck but who's unsure (maybe due to the lack of images available on-line) I'd advise you to get it, you won't be disappointed.
I'll stop gushing now and go and play :D

processed my order for 27.98 in U.S. dollars (19.98 pounds sterling) for the book and deck...I chose an expedited shipping of 7.99 pounds sterling.
They processed my order on the first of October and I thought the notification was they expected the book and decks in by the 13th or sooner--it turns out by the 14th, I received it.
Cards about six by four inches? The addition of a white border and a frame enhance the painting. But the cards are big enough that the half inch or so total for white margin and border makes me think I'm reading with fine illustration plates instead of cards.
***************************************
Probably my wishful thinking, but some of the people to me tend to transcend the feel of the "British-Welsh-Celtic" blend that I am used to in the Arthurian (I still enjoy that deck very much)--there's an outdoorsy, rosy and tanned look to the Druidcraft people that make them seem like they are living in the landscape.
Some ambiguous (in a good way) expressions, mysterious and yet suggestive of multiple meanings:
1. Queen of Swords as she grips the sword in the face of the wind.
2. The Lord with a Japanese style zori (footwear) that separates the big toe from the others (scroll down to the last images in menswear):

His antler headgear that can sometimes remind one of ethnic headgear:
http://store1.yimg.com/I/asiana-west_1813_3444650
3. Childish and daring Prince of Wands with his eyes closed as his pony/horse gallops toward the viewer
4. Face half-hidden Prince of Pentacles
5. Queen of cups hooded eyes closed to the sun-sphere above the cup and her foot dipped in the water.
6. Five of Cups hooded figure watching a claw emerge from the water to grab the leaping fish
7. Dreamy, dark-haired Princess of Pentacles contemplating the star.
8. Death's elder woman who might be crying or speaking softly as she holds the skull and the sickle in her belt.
Just a few first impressions before I read anything...

Mari,
That Prince of Wands is one of my favorites so far...or at least has struck me. The closed eyes as he leaps is fabulous, and seems so appropos that I'm surprised I've never seen it before.
It's wonderful.
The Four of Swords proved very ...meditatively accessible for me.
I'll go through again and find some more favorites.

Mari I agree with everything you've said, especially the bit about the white borders - they seem totally unnecessary to me but chopping them off would ruin the cards as some of them don't seem to be printed quite centrally so the back design would be ruined.
Not my usual type of deck at all - I usually prefer my artwork a little more raw. I like it though - I'm yet to try reading with it.

I do not mind the borders on this deck, the cards are big enough to allow the artwork to be aprreciated and they are thin enough that I do not think they detract from the deck at all.
I could not be happier with this deck... I am in total love with it. ;)

Sorry SongDeva, I misunderstood - I have a thing about borders - I don't mind the 'stone' borders on this deck but I just keep thinking if it didn't have the extra white border it would be that bit smaller (I don't get on well with big decks) :)
I've never liked white borders.

Woman, why are you apologizing? Anyway,
I loathe borders on principle; I'd rather have just the art, a borderless deck. These are noticeable to me, however.
Edit: I meant NOT noticeable!

I am a bit crazy about this one I think :D It has arrived. The postal delivery person actually had been by

I would say in this case, the deck and you is sooner and happier to be bon companions and by your b-day, will be nice buddies for a great day out....
On your b-day, dress it up and take it out. Or do the full layouts suggested on the floor before then so when your birthday comes, the b-day reading will make more sense to you....or take it shopping on your b-day to get the perfect bag...in my case, I changed some of the favorite carrying bags and it resides in a turquoise silk bag for easy transport...
I found one of the cards---three of cups-- to be similar to my Secrets Tarot scene of three man consuming drink. It led me back to checking out other favorite tarots and comparing them to the Druidcraft.
I don't think you will lose any enjoyment because a birthday month gift arrived a bit early. We've all had plenty of birthdays when things weren't perfect on the perfect day...I would bless the joy of having it earlier than later! I also like that I have something so beautiful while my cold runs it's course and I should rest...with a very good book and deck...
Kind of funny as I wrote this, looking at the Empress card on top and the turquoise bag and the white cover (I made a white cover for the book--will decorate it later)...I seem to flash on dreaming about a similar scene---seeing a beautiful deck on turquoise material picking up the swirl of blue around the Empress' toes on one side and the funny fertility goddess with three daisies on the other...
Happy Early B-Day!

Well I am still looking at it Mari because I have just got back from Cornwall but it has the same feel, to me, as the Druid Animal Oracle and Greenwood Decks..... lots of Celtic knots and spirals in rocks.
I love the Majors, some are very dramatic, like the Magician, High Priestess (one of my favs) and the Devil (Cernunnos).

I've always placed newly made Rune sets out under
the Moonlight for awhile, and sometimes with a new
Tarot deck, take the cards when I go for a walk and
kind of let them breathe in a little of the night air...
The Druid Craft Tarot will have an especially auspicious
introduction to the twilight heavens here, as I am going
to spend some time during the total lunar eclipse on
October 27-28th aligning the cards with the Universe.

until the perfect idea comes to me.
Keep it for awhile in a safe place---when the time is right, you'll know whether you place it in the book or not.
Even though I don't need to, I put the paper-covered book in a portable zip bookbag from Borders.com. I popped a few favored CDs, a paperback and two smaller decks also in this zip up case--very handy. And this has gone with me in my car for the past week--every time I have a few minutes, I've checked something out about this deck.

P.S. Moonbow, the celtic spiral and knotwork is one of the interesting notations in the Giorgio Tavaglione's Italian Stella book...my bad translation...
Between more ancient investigative thought the spiral is between profound and mysterous. The spiral that you and he think of is the labyrinth. It has both the entrance and exit. The labyrinth that you sense is direct with life, the individual evolution and all human society. The incisions of the megaliths of the Celtics, Africans, the decorations of Maya and Aztecs and from East India, Devas and Asura, the Chinese double spiral known as the yin-yang--the spiral expresses the primal range, the emanation, the development of the continuous cycle of the creative rotation. It is marvelous to imagine cosmic and symbol equilibrium in the line breaks, to arrange the internal change and mutation. The spiral logarithyms stays, formed notwithstanding, its assymetrical growth.
The spiral represents always rhythm repeatedly of life and the characteristic cycle of evolution, assurance of its permanent essence that fluctuate and changes as part of the center of expansion (the solvent of the Alchemist) and is the return to the center in condension (in coagulation), the movement possesses being in agreement with birth and death (per the East Indians - kapa and prayana) Come death, initiates rebirth and the diverse being, transformed, agreement comes in the journey of the soul after the death, otherwise the orderly life upset is to join in the center, return to unity, the eternal essence, the reintegration into the primary whole...
Hope it adds to enjoyment of spiral musings!

O, these cards feel so lovely and soft ! And they are beautiful - such magnificent skies ! The aces are gorgeous. Five of cups - such a lovely card. And love Strength with the wild boar instead of a lion, fitting for this deck. And the four pentacles with the money-chest and the emptiness surrounding it (while most cards have lush nature on it)...Also really love the High Priest.
haven't had time to look at the book yet.

I have to say I'm just loving this deck - it really is special. Now I've got rid of those white borders the cards are easier for me to handle and they really look like windows into another world - you really feel as though you could step over that stone border and be there :)
Wolfspirit I agree with you about the skies and the Aces - The Ace of Swords is one of my favorite cards in the deck - the water looks so realistic. The Queen and Princess of Cups are beautiful and The Hermit's green sky is lovely. There are very few cards I dislike and some cards have just been done so well - The 7 of Swords is one - never have liked that sneaky guy in the RWS version.
I'm very fussy about my tarot decks - I have a couple of decks I use all the time but I really think that DruidCraft is going to be one of my favorites :)
I think it's set to rival the Robin Wood as the top Pagan deck - ducks for cover as the Robin Wood fans go wild ;)

I agree Sulis,
I am having so much fun with this deck and I have been reading up on many things connected to druidry and celtic goddesses and stone circles etc etc. I am totally hooked.
What I haven't done yet is get the Greenwood out and compare, but I intend doing that once I've got through the rest of the book. I have already done this with the Druid Animal Oracle and these two decks compliment each other I think.
After all the decks I have and the reading I have done on tarot I am still amazed that the authors have come up with a book that is both interesting and provides yet more scope for each card. Every time I pick the deck up I am transformed back to the Cornish countryside and ancient sites. I know its not essentially Cornish, but that's what the deck reminds me of.
I also feel that this deck IS our ancestry (I feel this with the Greenwood too). It doesn't just go back to the Dark Ages but it goes further back to Druidry, Witchcraft and Shamanism.

I have been through the deck a few times and I can't find one card I don't like. It also looks like an easy to read deck for everyone familiar with the RWS. Then I start reading the book and there is just so much more told about every card.
This deck feels like coming home for me.
I have used the Greenwood a bit, but I think this deck will be so much more usable for me.
Just a detail ;) I was wondering about the big tabby cat on some of the cards, I think it must be Will's own pet.
|

|
The only card I can think of that I'm not keen on is the 3 of Cups - that's because for me this card always has a feminine energy to it and being a pagan deck I thought it would be a Maiden, Mother, Crone type image......guess it's encouraging me to look at this card in a new light :)
The book is very good isn't it? I like the way numerology is used in the card descriptions - giving a reason for the meanings. I also like the way it starts with a section on Court cards - most books leave them till last. I would have liked there to be a bit more about the symbolism used in the Minor Arcana but hey, we can't have everything can we?
The tabby cat is gorgeous isn't he/she? - The use of animals, plants and trees in this deck is another one of it's good points :)
I'll stop now - I'm gushing :D

From the merest spark of fancy a pure impulse sprang up:

Of larger things unknown to me, I calmly trust my guide,
so and if my few notions do no harm, there's never worry.
I don't know how many years before a walker in my garden may
stand of a night to again behold the total eclipse of the Moon.
So tonight I marked the Moon's position, and with allowances
for Her natural movement, of thirteen degrees per day, we will
be stood facing from that spot whence to note, clear it may be

Hello, gang. I'm so happy everyone's enjoying their deck. I didn't get to study much on vacation - the TV being on was a little distracting! The tabby cat is from the Druid Animal Oracle. I can't remember if I already mentioned it, but I'll be using the DAO & the Greenman Oracle deck books as extra reference material since Mr. Worthington illustrated both of those decks as well.

Welcome back TigrEyes !
Yes I saw the tabby cat in the Druid Animal oracle, I still think he (or she) could be existing irl as well ;)
The big dog (could be an Irish Wolfhound) on the 10 pentacles and the king of cups looks also a lot like the dog in the DAO.
BTW I trimmed the borders of the DAO and it looks great. But I have two copies of this deck, the other one stays with borders.
I am already thinking of buying another copy of Druid Craft - I think I will really want a back-up copy of this one. And then I have one I can trim without fear :D I think it will look great.

I got my deck today, so i'm very happy and excited about the deck! I had a shuffle through the cards, and i found that some of the cards hadn't been cut properly. When they cut the cards from the printing sheets, they've missed a couple of corners and sides and it looks abit tatty with the offcuts still there. Its okie now i've cut them off myself (first time i've ever put scissors to a tarot deck, and its not happening again!) but i was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem?
Also, i was abit miffed to find that my pack didnt come with a bookplate for it! I ordered directly from the OBOD. I've sent them an email about it so it should be sorted. Anyone else or is that just me?
Usually the OBOD shop is so good, so i'm a bit upset that my order has slipped the net, but the cards are still gorgeous, and i love the courts! So much in them than anyother courts ive come across.

I haven't had a chance to look through all of the comments on this thread, so I might be out of the loop.
I received this deck from Amazon UK about a week ago. I am very pleased that someone finally decided to create a deck that is strongly tied to Druidic/Celtic/Wiccan themes and ideology, and still maintains the traditional concepts and interpretations of the tarot.
The text gives great insight into the connections between the tarot and Druidic legends and beliefs.
Some of my favorite arcana include:
III - The Lady
Ace of Swords (go Excalibur!)
Ace of Cups
Princess of Cups (this one's gorgous)
What do you guys think?

And there is nothing wrong with the borders on my deck.

Received this deck from Amazon UK several days ago and couldn't be more pleased. The cards are beautiful, evocative and lend themselves well to intuitive readings...:)
The trees are WONDERFUL!
The book is outstanding both structurally and in content. The parallels drawn between Wicca, Druidry, Tarot, the Golden Dawn Pythagoras etc really resonate and clearly show the inter-relationship of systems often seen as unrelated.. Yeah!
My cards are cut properly...sorry you had the experience of unevenly cut cards, innana :(
Sulis, the 3 of cups with 3 men threw me a bit too, but I love what you said about prompting you to look at the card differently, so will try to do that as well..Thanks...
Moonbow, I'm also reading more on druidry, and am hooked on this deck. It really draws you in..
It is hard to pick favorite cards, for sure..a few of them are:
6 of Swords
The FFeryllt
Princess of Cups
Ace of Pentacles (and all the aces)
The Hermit
Death
6 of Pentacles
3 of Wands
2 of Swords
The Wheel
8 of Pentacles
8 of Cups
I did read through this thread before puchasing the deck...thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts..you helped me make up my mind and I'm delighted with the deck, and special thanks to TygrEyes for starting the thread...
I hope all of you enjoy your decks..:D

My cards are evenly cut as well, so hopefully that was just a fluke. Did you guys notice how the people have big feet & long toes? That struck me after a few look throughs - then I looked down at my own feet - lol! They're true to form.
I was happy to see that there are different body types & even most of the thinner folks aren't twigs. There are even people w/ gray hair and/or pot bellies!
Does anyone else find it amusing that in the Moon card the dog is an Irish Wolfhound w/ his nemesis on the other side of the path? Did you notice "the chase" throughout the fives?
I bought a fabric covered box this weekend to house my deck. I think I'll have to get on the pre-order list at Amazon for a second set.
WolfSpirit - I can't believe you cut your deck! So how many decks will you have in all - two or three?

TygerEyes I trimmed the borders from my deck 3 days after I got it. I like it much better now - it was too big for me to shuffle; I love to sit and shuffle my cards and I don't like white borders so off they went.
It's perfect now - it feels as if the snipping helped me to bond with it - it really feels like my deck now. The stone coloured borders look like window or door frames now - you could almost just step over them and be there.
I hadn't noticed the chase in the fives - I'm going to go and have a look now. I really like this deck - I've been looking for a deck to really connect to for ages (then I'll have 3 which is a very nice number I think) - I think this one is it :D

I finally trimmed the white borders off too, I had been itching to do so for days but was somewhat hesitant. But I had trimmed decks before and they all look so much better. The pictures really come out much better without the white, and they are not really borderless, there is still that lovely stone border that I kept as well as the name. I ordered a second deck because I feel this will be a deck I will use a lot, I normally don't buy second decks.
I noticed the big feet - it reminded me when I was in Prague looking at statues and we noticed they all had big feet and large toes as well, we thought it was to give them a bigger surface to stand on !
I had to get used a bit to the people not all being beautiful to our standards, but now I love them, they all look very strong characters.
I read about the chase of the fives in the book :) I think there is still so much detail to discover !

I've never cut borders before so I'd practice on a deck I'm not crazy about first. I'll have to go check out Yaboot's thread in Talking Tarot again. I'm intrigued by the practice, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do it to a deck I love. Did you two (Sulis & WolfSpirit) use scissors?
By WolfSpirit:
I read about the chase of the fives in the book.:
I read the card descriptions after I've taken a good look at the cards first, then I'll go see what they say about them. I was surprised they didn't say anything about the red shawl underneath The Lady. It's also in The Lord, Strength, Death & Fferyllt.
I just noticed this morning a face in one of the Princess cards.

I love that the people are not "perfect"... they definately have more character than most. Hey... did anyone notice all the redheads in this deck?? :D
The feet on some do seem a bit big, but is a matter of perspective I think.
This deck is a bit harder to shuffle for me, but perhaps that is because it is new.
Did you trim the little gold border off the back when you snipped your cards Sulis?
|

The gold border is still visible on the backs but now it's right at the edge. The little fleur-de-lys in the corners have been snipped in half but they look OK. I used very sharp scissors and toe-nail clippers for the corners (I couldn't find a corner cutter and I'm very impatient :)). I love my deck all the more now - it looks really good with the stone borders and titles intact - I'm not that bothered about perfection.

I love this discussion and I had not noticed the Fleur de Lys before...I like the idea of how a border of French Lilies are in this modern tarot. It reminds me of emblems that were also in earlier French and Ferrara (Italian) art that might also be related to historical tarocchi...
Thanks for the ideas,
Cerulean

i might be getting one of those soon if i am lucky...
one question, i am sorry if it has been answered already. though i read all the thread already, i don't remember someone mentioning this: is strength VIII and justice XI or the opposite?
i'd like to hear any new comment you guys can make about this deck and that hasn't been already written here or in the other DruidCraft thread.
i don't think i will trim the borders though i did it with my haindl. let's see though... OFF TOPIC: with the haindl, it almost didn't modify the backs and they still look very ok even if i lost haindl's signature in the trimming.
thanks in advance for answering my strength/justice question!

Hello, Kissa! Strength is VIII & Justice is XI. I think this deck's Death card conveys the message of transformation much better than most. I've journaled for this card, but haven't had time to type it up. I was wondering if anyone wanted to start studying the deck in the General Study thread, but I guess I'm supposed to be asking that over there.
You can see the card here:
http://druidcraft-tarot.druidry.org/majorarcana.html
(I think the image is a little bigger there than on AT.)
Edited to add:
Search for Druidcraft in the General Study & the Reading Exchange forums. Moonbow has used it in the comparative study threads & Lunakasha gave two readings using it. :o)

TygrEyes I would be interested in a study group. Although the book is very clear and I have no real questions about the deck, I think there is still a lot we could talk about :)
I think it is ok to mention it in this thread so people know to look out for it in the Study Forum. I don't hang out there much at the moment as I only use the Druid Craft at the moment and I don't feel like studying another deck at the moment.

I'm so excited! I just ordered myself a copy! Now I just have to wait for it to come in the mail...
By the way, excellent review, Cerulean.
So while I'm waiting, for those of you who have it, what's your favorite card and why?

Because it has almost everything perfectly aligned with an ideal deck...that would be great for me.
High Priestess, Princess of Swords, Nine of Cups and Page of Pentacles--darker haired heroines with individual expressions that are subtle, yet warm, They stand
out to me, yet they also fit the setting they are in--at least to me.
Cheers,

Well, count me in as yet another who really likes the look of this new deck!. I can hardly wait until it is generally available, which in Canada will apparently be sometime in January 2005. I expect I'd like to be part of a study group too, so am putting in my vote for this, when everyone that wants it has access to the deck. If I have to wait for the deck, I can certainly wait for the group.
Thanks.

This is for those of you who are waiting for the American release of the deck or are going to order b/4 then, but haven't yet. We've started a thread in the General Study forum about starting a study group & we need your input to decide how we're going to proceed. Thanks!

sulis,
i followed your lead yesterday and cut the borders off my deck. i didn't like them for several reasons. firstly, they made the cards way to big to shuffle (and i like to shuffle a lot) and secondly, a lot of the borders were not equal on each side,( one side would be wider than the frame on the other ), which bugged me. anyway i did it!!! and i have been using them a lot, they're much better now! love, tink xx

Tinkerbell,
Your reasons for trimming your deck are exactly the same as mine. I love to shuffle too - just can't get used to swirling the cards around or holding them differently - I like the way I shuffle now, I find it very relaxing.
The borders on my cards were a little bit 'off' and that bugged me too.
Now they look like windows into another world.
Glad you like yours bette now too. Gorgeous aren't they?
I love the way the backs are reversable too - my other reading decks both have non-reversable backs and I much prefer not knowing which way the cards are going to fall.
Love

I've heard about the big feet and big hands in the deck, so I checked the deck carefully. My comment is that the feet and the hands are not big at all. It's a matter of distance. What is closer seems bigger than what is farther, even if what is farther is right behind. It's a law of perception. They used that technique in the movies LOTR to fool people believing Gandalf was taller than the Hobbits. They simply put Gandalf closer to the camera and Frodo was further in the back, but not that much, hence a tall Gandalf and a small Frodo. It's very obvious with XI Justice where she is laid back and her foot is ahead, hence her foot appearing bigger, which is normal. I have to admit I have not seen this often though, decks that use this perception law, it was probably to make the deck more realistic. I remember the Druid Animal Oracle and the cards in it are very realistic, a great attention to details, making you wonder if it's not a picture instead of a drawing you're looking at.
This deck is wonderful, no wonder why people love it and rave about it so much. The art is very realistic, and there is so much details on the cards. I'm eager to read the book to learn more. My favorites, if you have the patience to read: Page and Knight of Wands, Two of Cups, Four of Cups, Eight of Cups, Page of Cups, the whole Swords suit (except Three, Five, Eight of Swords), Five of Pentacles, Page of Pentacles, 0 The Fool, II The High Priestess, IV The Lord, VI The Lovers, IX The Hermit, XIII Death, XVII The Star.
I hope indeed this deck will kick the Robin Wood Tarot in the knees as the top pagan deck, it's 5 right now, a good position, but not good enough to beat the RWT. I love the Tarot of the Old Path but it seems I'm the only one who likes it. I don't like the art of the RWT and I don't like the aryen look as well (coined by Firemaiden, I think). All these blonds bother me. In the Druidcraft, we see a lot of dark-haired and red-haired people. I love red hair!!! More! More!

Thanks in advance :)

Wolfy you made me nervous!
I had to go back and count all my cards and make sure nothing was missing or double after your post in the Competition Thread.
I understand about perspective and the feet.
I was just teasing in the De-enabling thread.
I really don't know how you could De-enable anyone out of this deck it is so wonderful!
I bought two sets and one is unopened in the closet...maybe I should open it and make sure it's OK.
Sulis my dear, did you round the corners on your cards when you trimmed them?
I think I'm going to trim mine.
I have a corner trimmer so I could round them.

Hi Lark,
Yes I did round the corners - on the Druidcraft I actually used a nail clipper to do the rounding because the local craft shop was out of corner rounders. I've bought one since and would recommend them. The nail clipper did ok though :)
They really look lovely trimmed - I left the stone borders and the box with the text at the bottom on mine.

I bought the Druidcraft tarot on impulse when I was on holiday last week. I love the artwork. I've only done one reading with it so far and it was somewhat more melodramatic than the other readings I've done. My only problem with the deck is the large size of the cards, but I have very tiny hands.

I have "almost" been convinced to buy this but would really like to see some more pics of it first. Something has been holding me back and I'm not sure what. I have read many different posts and most are good but some say they've had damaged cards, missing cards, etc. Are there any other websites or posts that show more pics.

There's no site that has the whole deck, to my knowledge. Tarotgarden.com has 6 samples, you've obviously seen the samples on Aeclectic's decks portion, and OBOD's website (www.druidry.org) shows a few more of the cards. Also, most of the court cards have scans posted in the study groups forum.

I have been wanting this deck since I saw SongDeva's copy last fall. Thanks to the generosity of my friend Namaste, a copy now resides in our household (she sent it to Laura and I, but L is going to have to pry it from my hands!).
First impression - I love the size of the cards. Also, the pictures are so vivid and clean. Even though it is RWS based, I like the different takes. I am initially fond of the Aces.
Thanks again Namaste! Now I can go over and participate in the Study Group.

four hours ago, i had a vision: i decided to trim the druidcraft he he...
here we are, after 50 mn of ER-pause after the first 15 cards or so, my druidcraft feels really mine now.
i would never have dared doing this unless i had heard that Sulis did it.
it was either trimming or not being phyiscally able to handle that gorgeous deck. the white borders themselves weren't bothering me but the huge size of the cards was. now it feels a lot better. and i can say it looks a lot better too, the cards look like tiny treasure postcards.
off to celtic dreams now :)
ps: thank you Sulis for inspiring me on that one!!!!

OMG Kissa,

I trimmed the Rohrig and it is so much better but don't think I could bring myself to trim Druidcraft yet. Maybe in a few months but not yet.
Did it trim evenly and what does it shuffle like?

Hi everyone,
I'm a newby to the Druidcraft, and I love it.
I've only read some of this thread, but I did notice the big feet...um, I have a bit of a feet fetish...but the legs on some of the people seem disproportionately large as well...and I think it is a purposeful device. I've been over the deck now several times, and it is clear that the artist has no problem drawing hands or feet, and that perspective is perfect in some cards and a bit strange in others so I'm leaning towards thinking that the cards where the perspective is off must be an aritistic decision.
Either that or Will W. didn't draw all of the cards himself, and that seems rather unbelievable.
I love the Aces, and the Princes.
I think that the majors are just about perfect.
I'm moving away from RWS and this deck has me back again...and it feels so comfortable and accessible.
What about that 4 of Wands...before or after the party...
How about that 6 of Swords...do we ever see the boat coming towards us...
What about the 6 of Cups....love the man watching the kids...
The way they approached the cards is very fresh...there I said it...a fresh perspective on the RWS! LOL, but it is true.
I admit that the 10 of Swords could have used a newer, fresher look, and the 2 of Wands is puzzling, but overall, the deck is wonderful.
I wonder about the leaves in the Hanged Man's mouth tho.
That is a trifle disturbing.
And still wondering about Cernunnos as the Devil...not my own first choice for that one, but will live it with for a bit.
Love the knotwork on the World card and find the Sun card adorable.
Could go on but won't. I'm a fan. Leave it at that.

Yay, you go girl :D
Don't they look so good? The stone frames look like window frames without the white borders. You could be sitting looking out of the window into a different world of rich colours and beautiful skies.
I got the same feeling too - before I trimmed it, it just didn't seem like my deck - something wasn't right. The trimming made us closer (yep, I'm completely bonkers:)).

Glad you like it elf - it's a delight. I agree the feet and legs must be on purpose. They work well in readings I find.
I LOVE the 7 of swords! At last, we are rid of that dreadful sneaky character - thief or spy with a back-stabbing expression on his face - and back to the true meaning of seven and swords! Of course we can imagine that the man writing at his desk is also being sneaky - but it is only one among many interpretaions possible for this card, and not the most obvious. I love the way the creators have given some ral thought to numerology and pythagorean thought. It just makes SO much more sense!
And the 5 of cups with the otter-Carridwen chasing the fish-Taliesin - how it al ties in well together.
This deck has opened me up to Celtic myth, as well: not only Irish, Breton and Welsh, but Gaulish as well - I remember that the Celts lived here too and their blood runs in my veins. I am devouring Miranda Green's wonderful book on Symbol and Image in Celtic religious art, and enjoying discovering the history of bards and druids (I have a French book for that and there are some good internet sites). And, as ever, Cernunnos draws me - and I keep drawing him in readings. I believe he has something important to teach me, that old Gaulish god...

Couldn't agree more. I cannot stand the RWS 7 of Swords - it annoys me so much. Whenever it comes up in a reading here on ATF and people say 'deception, that's what it shows, someone's deceiving you or being sneaky' sometimes it's spot on and sometimes I think Nooooo - there are so many other takes on this card. If you use numerology then the Druidcraft version is so much better.
I get a bit of a bee in my bonnet about the RWS 7 of Swords (can you tell? ;))
The 5's all show aspects of 'The chase' between Carridwen and Taliesin - inspired :)
See what you lot have done........you've got me gushing about the DruidCraft again.
It seems strange the way some people got this deck last year - gushed about it then calmed down. Now that the US version is out we're all gushing again :)

to Sulis and the ones who hve trimmed their decks: did you use corner rounders for the corners or did you leave them to preserve the original shape of the stone frame?
i don't know what to do, really. i am afraid the cards will suffer more during shuffling if they are not rounded but i wouldn't want to spoil the great "frame" sensation.
hmmmm... tough one, eh?
