I'm....*gasp*....getting a second deck.
I had on my wish list:
Quest Tarot
Leonardo Da Vinci Tarot
Celtic Dragon Tarot
I love them all....but I think I'm ordering the Celtic Dragon due to its availability and that I love it and so does my boyfriend (lol).
I could have got it for Xmas if I mentioned it sooner but nooooooo. So now I'm buying it for myself cause it's too late for him to order it for me :) He's coming here.
Anyone else have this deck?

Oh, you had me worried. :D You'll survive, my dear. Your bank account may not, but you will. And if it kills you you'll die with a smile on your face. :joke:

I have the Celtic Dragon, and pull it out from time to time when I want a new take on the cards. (And I am not a big dragon fan, but I like this one).
The art is quite gentle and lovely and the images lend themselves to intuitive interpretation very easily. One young lady in my Tarot Circle uses this deck regularly with great results.
I don't care too much for the book, however. I suggest beginning with the cards themselves and let the images tell you what they mean.
Let us know when you get the deck and how you like it!

I, too, have the Celtic Dragon deck. I find it very easy to read with, and I always get good results. I recommend it. I agree with Asher regarding the book, however. It's a little on the frilly side. Although the description of the cards did point out several details that I may not have noticed otherwise. There are some interesting spells in the back, too. I'm sure you won't be disappointed in your choice.

and you can choose the Celtic Dragon with your choice of spreads.

I have to say the nicest and freshest ideas to me come from the Shapeshifter and Celtic Dragon in their choice of online reading decks. They seem, well, family friendly, too.
They are beautiful decks. I traded or gave them away to some special people. I like to remember them as good, good friends that have gone on to be close friends to nice people on Aeclectic.net. I do tend to favor art decks like the DaVinci now (check the backwards writing and little doodles on the trumps with the mirror--the titles are the Italian name of the trumps in script, backwards).
Merry New Year and Happy Christmas...

One day you make a simple mouse click not unlike thousands before...
A pretty soothing purple screen appears, you have a look around.
You realize you have come to a tarot student's dreamland. A place where everyone is friendly, a place where ideas and knowledge are freely shared.
It begins innocently enough, a deck you have never seen is being discussed. You wonder what the fuss is about. Then you see it... that little snippet of periwinkle colored text. With a double click of the mouse, your tiny sliver of the world of tarot begins a wonderous transformation...

Ha ha very funny LadyMedusa! But actually I've admired the Celtic Dragon for a long time :) I think the urge for a new deck sprung upon me suddenly last night after I offered a reading in the Reading Exchange and I realized, I'm probably one of the only people in here who only has one deck to choose from. I think I'm ready for another :)

DS,
Be sure to consider the Quest Tarot again, sometime in the future.
It's a wonderful reading deck that I've been enjoying lately...
I completely understand your current choice, though--I think the Celtic Dragon is the best of this theme out there.
But if you wanted a break from that world, imagine being able to go to Quest's cyber-morphed land of androgynous beings...

Quest was at the top of my list a while ago, but then I considered the other two. My boyfriend helped me make my first pick. I'm going to get them one at a time :)

Hi Dead Star,
I too have the Celtic Dragon Tarot, its a good deck. The dragons are drawn nicely, the cards are a nice size to shuffle - I have small hands but don't have a problem with this one at all. The dragons are drawn more as equal companions, you'll see what I mean when you get the cards, rather than beasts of burden. It might take a while to get used to them because although it is a Rider Waite clone, the cards are very different. But its worth it, I always get good readings from this deck.
The book explains each card and there are pages for you to try and connect to your dragon and dragon candle spells in the back. The book also goes into what crystals and candle colours to try in the spells.
Hope you enjoy it :)
