For me it's the Haindl. I'm lucky enough to have some free time coming up and I've decided the Haindl's been waiting long enough in it's little black and gold bag, poor patient thing. I've browsed through it and love the images, but overall I have no idea how it 'works'. I have Rachel Pollack's book on the deck and am looking forward to diving in deep! Pity I'll be offline during the holidays; it would be nice to post some impressions here. Oh well... next year!
Happy holidays, everyone,
Kate

Bean Feasa, Jewel-ry and I are doing the Haindl in the 78-week study. I'd love it if you'd join us for any little bit of wisdom and insight there. She and I have both posted on the Magician card.
This deck is so far from what usually talks to me that I wanted to study it in depth. The range of myths and symbols he combines are broad and confusing (for me, I know so little about most of them).
So I'll be taking the Haindl with me on a holiday trip and journal writing on what I see.

I plan to spend Christmas with the Sacred Circle deck. It came this morning :) - Not opened it yet though, it was a last minute thing, I saw it and was struck by the artwork. It not often I like photo decks but I do like the cards I've seen of this one and the name changes on the Majors interests me. :)

Hi Imagemaker,
I'd be happy to join you and Jewel-ry in the 78 card study; thanks for inviting me. I'll add it to my list of New Year's Resolutions. ;)

On Christmas day itself I will be with my loud family and no tarot. But on Boxing day I will be with the Gothic by Vargo, and Margarete Petersen too so she doesn't become jealous.

I shall hopefully be spending some of my xmas with Tarot of Prague, I did also order the Hadar Marseille but I know it hasnt arrived yet so I'll just have to make do with one. Of course, there is always the possibility of a surprise!!!

...First, the Fairy Ring, which is a non-Tarot deck that goes with the gorgeous (my favorite for the year) Sacred Circle - same artists. Then, there is my adorable li'l Tarot Nova, always a sure upper, needed right now as my situation is very tense!!!!

That was a decision I had to make before I came back to stay with my parents. I wanted to bring my trusty Phantasmagoric ... had become a little attatched to the Russian Tarot of StPetersberg recently ... would it be a Rider Waite or was it time to get to grip with the Thoth? I am not sure that I have enough time off to get to grips with that baby - maybe when I have finished my studies.
And then in the back of my tarot cuboard I saw the glimmering bag of the Cosmic Tribe. I had developed a good starting relationship with that deck originally but then, for a reason I cannot remember, I didn't have much to do with them. I think that it was the intensity of the Phantasmagoric that did it! (right, Maan???)
Now they are back at my parents with me, they are shining brighter than ever and we are bonding well. They do read soooo clearly and I can't understand why I abandoned them at the back of the cuboard for so long. So here we are, together for crimbo. I havn't done any major readings with them; have just been getting to know them, day by day, and it has been exciting - like buying them all over again.
Best wishes

On Christmas Day I will be with 40 people ( loud and obnoxious family members) and unfortuantely....no Tarot. Day after Christmas I have to my self, and it will be a day spent with The Quest, I think, I haven't had time to do anything but work, shop and wrap, for the last two weeks.

Well, I could only bring three home with me, so I opted for my Rider-Waite (for study), my Adrian (goes everywhere - my first deck), and the Faeries (how could I abandon them? they'd be so hurt!).

I'm spending this time of year with my new Blue Rose deck, as well as another collage deck that just arrived, called the Self-Guided Tarot.
Also awaiting a package from Alida which was mailed yesterday.
Happy holidays to all!

I think it's going to be a happy foursome with the Fey, the Gothic Vampires, my trusty Cosmic Tribe and me.

Probably the Faery Wicca, since it along with the Sola Busca is gone from my Amazon wish list :)

Today on Christmas Eve I don't have time for tarot but I'm planning on spending a little time on the two holidays with the Hudes (just bought it new for ridiculous 3$) and the Gothic Vampires for the right X-Mas atmosphere. })

I am also going to be aquainted with my newly arrived .
Although, I got the deck with some German meanings instead of English on them, and after some deliberation, I decided to keep them, since I had waited long enough for them to be available as a set at Amazon's, and I figured I will try to get the meanings, by either guessing, using my feelings, intuition or if everything else fails, I will sneak a peek at the accompaying book interpretations.
I think the deck is not as dark as many people saw it. For me it is real. It does follow thoth interpretations so I think I will not have a hard time with them. It's a deck that is worth my time and trouble. .

I'd love it if you'd post any Haindl insights on the 78-week study thread. I don't find it so dark, just deep and mysterious with multiple layers of allusions tht I don't understand!

Thank you Darla, but actually all the card images, though black and white, and meanings in English are already available in the accompanying book. So, I will just have to go back and forth a few times . Thank God that Rachel Pollack is not German, otherwise....

I have been (and will continue to be) spending time with my brand new Cosmic Tribe and also playing with my standard Spiral (it's my basics). I should have a lot of time to play with them over the next week or two with so many holiday days from work!
