I don't know if you remember the thread just about a week before Christmas where I was desperate for the Tarot of the Spirit isbn numbers? Well, I ordered it on Boxing Day and its arrived today!! How fast is that? The deck and book came together although ordered separately. My husband had ordered through WH Smiths (for those in UK) and they let us down badly after saying it was on order.

Just thought I would tell you the 'Happy Ending' Thanks for all your help in tracking down the right isbn numbers - I was concerned I might end up with two books or two decks! - Good Ol' Amazon....

Hi Moonbow,

Glad you got Tarot of the Spirit, I liked the deck when I saw it online but the majors and court cards did take a bit of getting used to, I don't read with it that much but it is a deck that speaks to me. The minors always remind me of the Thoth but a gentler version. I think the book is an amazing read, very well worth getting.

I don't order from W H Smiths now, I've had them cancel quite a few orders when you think the order is on the way and really they can't get it but keep you hanging on. I had a deck on order for just over two months last year before they cancelled it so now I don't order from them at all.

Hope you enjoy your deck :)

Hi Moonbow,
I have the book and deck but it'll have to stay at the back of the cupboard for a while till I have more free time. I've committed to a study group on the Tarot of Prague and am trying to do some shadow work from Christine Jette's book with the Haindl deck, so I'm pretty booked up at the moment. Tarot of the Spirit is next on my list though, and I'm looking forward to it- I like the artwork and everyone comments that the book is really good. Hope you enjoy working with it, and do keep us posted!
blessings,
Kate

Hi Emily and Bean Feasa,

I may even have to put it away myself for a while (little look through first though!) I am involved with the Seekers questions, and the 78 day study (on three decks) and I'm 'chipping in' to the Prague and Faeries Study groups. I'm also trying to learn the Marseilles. Plenty of time though..... I may join you again in the Prague Bean Feasa

Congratulations on your new deck and your great choice !
The TOS is not my main reading deck, but when I use it it always adds something special which another deck doesn't - it is maybe on the light side but no way is it fluffy. You will need some time to study it with the book but it is all worth it.

The book with this deck its really good - don't you think? and I've only got to the second chapter. So far she has covered quite alot about herself and her beliefs now I'm reading the small bit about numerology and sacred geometry (she's only touched on this so far- maybe there is more further on in the book)

I got this deck last night. It was actually on sale and I hadn't heard of it before but was interested in the fact that Pamela Eakins seems to use a lot of other esoteric fields in her overall approach.

The art work is interesting as well with a quite amazing High Priestess. I haven't really looked at the deck in detail.

I agree with both of you - Bean Feasa and Moonbow* about the time it takes to get to know a deck and the problems with scattered energies.

Tarot of the Spirit grabbed me so much that I am studying one card perday, even tough I have gne on to working with other decks for my daily cards.

It is a gentler version of Thoth - I regard my Thoth as my masculine power deck, and Spirit is my Feminine Power deck.

I used to get a little concerned about cards that drifted from the standard Rider images (Water Father as opposed to King of Cups) but somehow, it doesn't bother me with this deck.

I am planning a trip to the UK this May and one of the places we plan to visit is Stonehenge - I have been trying to decide which deck to take there to do my daily cards on site and this one plus Shining Tribe are the two I keep coming back to.

I have been trying to be more Cups (Water) than Swords (Wind) so the information of the 5, 6 and especially 7 of cups greally grabbed me. (That is to say, feeling rather than intellectualizing everything)

I also find the 79th card a great way to try to understand the full imagery of the deck.

This deck flows to my inner self - let it flow to yours.

I admit it, I have been very distracted by this deck - and the book. I intended puting it to one side but its difficult. So far I haven't looked much at the cards because I'm working through the book. There is a large part on meditation which I have always been interested in but not used much with cards. She suggests going through the deck one card a day and meditating so will probably try this later.

You will love Stonehenge. I haven't been there for a few years but it is a moving place to be and very humbling. The only thing I regret a little is not being able to get close to the stones. But the whole area is interesting, there is a smaller 'henge' close by too (can't remember the name of it now) - You also won't be far from Glastonbury - I just love it there. You can go and see the Tor and the shops are great - especially the Psychic Piglet (lots of decks).

Thank you, Moonbow,

That gives me a lot to look forward to - although I am a bit disappointed that I won't be able to get as close to the stones as I would like - makes sense though that such a site would be well protected. I'm keeping note of your suggestions for my trip.

As for the Tarot of the Spirit - the meditation/poem that is near the beginning of each card description has been a lovely way for me to calm and really get into the card - I do thry to make sure I am undisturbed when I go through each days card - today I start the suite of Wind (Swords). I found from my work with Thoth that when a deck grabs as strongly as this one does it is best and most beneficial to just go with it!

Thanks again,

Thea
