I got decks for my birthday, and some for Christmas too. My birthday is right after Christmas, so often I get my birthday gifts at Christmas, or my Christmas gifts at my birthday (because they were broken at Christmas). Anyway, I always end up having lots of stuff all at once, either at Christmas or at my birthday. This year, it's at my birthday. I'm very surprised and very happy.
I've got so many decks that I don't know where to start. I got The Gypsy LeNormand Oracle Deck, pretty deck that is a gypsy version of LeNormand, that I have. The colors are vibrant and the images quite lovely. The LWB gives a lot more informations on LeNormand than the LWB that comes with my LeNormand deck. I'm eager to read it throughouly.
The Mini The Fairy Tarot, another pretty deck, with the little fairies, playing tricks. At my surprise, the minors are all illustrated with small pretty scenes.
The Crystal Tarot is as beautiful as I thought. The colors are rich and vibrant. Even the minors, whom I knew are not illustrated, are pretty with the vibrant colors. I was scared the minors would put me off, but not at all.
I got The Thoth Tarot, interesting deck as well, and when I went through it, I discovered that many key words on the cards corresponded on the key words given in my The Enchanted Tarot (Zerner-Farber), even some images are similar (Two Of Pentacles). Which means that The Enchanted Tarot (Zerner-Farber) has been inspired a lot from The Thoth Tarot. Something tells me I'll spend some time in the Crowley's Thoth Tarot Forum in the future.
I got The Diamon Tarot, a version of the Rider-Waite. The colors are bold and vibrant. I just find it sad that so much space is lost with the borders, because the cards are pretty.
I also got Le Tarot de Marseilles Fournier. When I looked at scans for a Tarot de Marseilles, this one was the prettiest. Now that I went through the deck and looked at each card, I know it's the prettiest. I think you all know my natural repulsion for Tarot de Marseilles, but this one is really pretty, I'm not uncomfortable with it. I'll be able to understand fully the posts in History and Iconography Forum (I do read your posts). I tried using the horrible Tarot de Marseilles that I have, but not only it's ugly, the images in it don't even follow the Tarot de marseilles traditions. I won't have this problem with the one I have now.
And for last, I also got a nice tarot journal to write in it my notes on each cards. And better, in it there is a small version of the pretty Tarot Nova, that can be used as a regular tarot deck.
You have no idea how much I am thankful for these gifts. So many decks!

What perfect gifts! :) Enough to last you at least a whole year and more.
The Crystal Tarot is my favourite non-Marseille Tarot deck and I should use it more often.
Let us know of all your discoveries as you get to know these decks.

Wolfy
I am so happy for you! I know how attached you are to the Enchanted (I love it too) but this is just so exciting. I hope to see you in the History & Icon threads soon. ( I have alot of catching up to do in there, so many threads are coming up lately that I haven't had time to read them all yet) What great presents you had.

I don't know if I'll be able to participate in the History and Iconography Forum though, I don't have the necessary knowledge, but I have a good Tarot de Marseilles now, and I'll be able to understand better what is going on.
I'm sure Diana, that you must be happy to know that I got a Marseilles deck. ;)

WolfyJames: Some of the threads in the History and Iconographical Forum are hard to follow... and others are easy.
Would it help you if I confessed that even as Co-Moderator of that forum, there are some threads there that leave me quite bewildered? (But please don't tell anyone, because it would ruin my reputation :D ).
If you want any advice on how to attack that forum without getting your brains in knots, you are welcome to PM me and I'll point you out the threads you could begin with. :)
Oh, and your Lenormand deck sounds wonderful too! Hope one day you'll do a reading for someone with it in the Oracles forum, so we can all get a taste of it.

Hey Wolfy!
You could always join me in the General study forum and talk about the Crystal Tarot. It is a deck which I love to talk about. Only trouble is, I talk to myself!! :D

Thanks for your kind words Diana, so now I shouldn't feel guilty because I don't always understand what is going on in this forum. If such a knowledgable person like you is sometimes baffled, then I have every right to be. It would be indeed nice of you to indicate to me how to attack the forum and the threads I should read first.
I noticed, when The Gothic Tarot by Vargo Study Group was still in the General Forum, that there was a Crystal Study Group as well. I'll be more than happy to come and participate; it will make me understand this deck better. It's sad to know that you're alone participating, I feared that when I started The Gothic Tarot by Vargo Study Group. I'll join you soon, don't worry. :)

WolfyJames I'm so excited for you!
Now how many decks is that nine, ten?
When I first met you, you had I think, two. :D
Don't let the Enchanted get jelouse now.....
Oh! Guess what. I ordered the Fournier Marseilles from the Joan Bunning sale!!
I'm so glad you think it's a pretty deck.
(So it's not going to scare me? Because I scare easy.)

Are you scared of the Tarot de Marseilles too? Had nightmares? Then that makes two of us. ;) But the Fournier is really pretty, with the vibrant colors. The eyes seem alive, it gives more expression to the characters. Frankly, I'm impressed.
I hope too that The Enchanted, and The Gothic, won't be too jealous of their new companions. I now have nine decks, including a horrible and repulsive Tarot de Marseilles that no one wants, not even me (I should burn it). I'm waiting in mail two mores decks though: The Old English and The Light And Shadow Tarot, so, it's going to make eleven decks soon. But, I've emailed Joan Bunning to see if she still has The Bosch Tarot, and if she does, I'll take it. I can't find that deck anywhere else, not even on Tarot Garden. So, it could go up to twelve decks. It's hard to take, so many decks in so little time. I don't know with which deck I should start to use it and work on it. Now, I understand people's confusion here when they have too many decks and don't know them much. What about you? You have quite a collection!

Yup, 71 tarot and oracles with 8 more on the way.
I feel like the little old woman who lived in a shoe I have so many tarot decks I don't know what to do.
It's nice to have new decks because they give you a fresh perspective.
But you know what, I always come back to my old favorites.
Because there cozy like your favorite jammies and a cup of hot cocoa.

The Tarot Nova is indeed very cute. I have detached every cards and managed to find a small box to keep them, to make sure they'll be all right. I'm going to put the box in my backpack, so from now on, I'm going to have a tarot deck on me always.
