Problems with Amazon - any advice?

I recently ordered 2 (quite pricey) decks from Amazon.co.uk, and changed my address details on their website at the same time.
But they're insisting on delivering the package to my old house, and I can't go and pick stuff up from there because it's a rented flat and I don't have keys for it, or any way of getting mail forwarded. So, basically, unless I can get them to change it, I'm being charged £40 for two decks I'll never get.
Help?

Try going into your account settings and adding another address -- your current address -- and then selecting shipment to that address. That should work in the meantime. You may have to delete the credit card information and enter it in again but I'm not sure of that. Amazon.com account settings are awkward to edit, that's true!!
There should be a way of eventually contacting them from within your account settings so that you can ask them questions.

Have you tried going into the site and choosing "change delivery address"? I would try that, if the items haven't shipped yet. Keep in mind though, if you checked your order this weekend, the system might have been partially down for maintenance and not showing you all the information about your order. (I had this happen recently - my whole order had vanished - but it was just because the site was partly down for maintenance - it all came back a few hours later.)
If that doesn't seem to work, I would e-mail the customer service department right away.

I would also personally e.mail the customer service department.
Mention that you have changed your mailing address, but that their system didn't seem to want to accept it in the order you did it.
I would also mention that you are informing them of the problem, and that non-receipt at your new address would mean being charged by your credit card company for a service not rendered (they would realise the implications of this, and I'm sure they'll get onto it straight away :))

Thanks guys!
Apparently they've already sent it to the old address, even though I've emailed them, but I'll reenter my data for new purchases (it was strange - at first it was being sent to my new address, then it changed).
jmd, that sounds like such a cool legal thing to say - definitely going to use that!
Fingers crossed. x

Hi Dark_angel,
When I order from Amazon I always check the order to make sure the address is right on the order page.
Its strange that they've been so difficult. Is at your old address to accept the package? You might be lucky and it doesn't get delivered.
Also like jmd mentions complain to Amazon again - when you hit the submit button you expect their system to change the details - they do it quick enough when its a credit card number they are after.
