Has anybody heard back yet from Connections Publishing regarding the planned reissue of the Tarot de Paris?
I yearn and yearn!

Aloha,
The London based Packager/Producer has offered to replace up to 200 decks to any dissatisfied customers (in the USA/Canada) who previously purchased the first edition deck. They will be releasing a statement the first week of February to clarify the matter.
The 200 replacement decks will be shipped out with postage paid. I have agreed to assist in the receipt of all inquiries. All those interested should send a short statement of their complaint (after FEB. 10) and a mailing address to : webmaster@tarotdeparis.com
European residents will be able to make contact via an email address (based in London) in mid February.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(If I may ask?).... I would personally appreciate it if anyone would be so kind as to write a short review on Amazon.com that confirms the improved card stock and that the second edition will be of the same quality! Of course be as honest as you will in stating your opinion of the images and the book as a whole!
New Works
I am still upgrading the TDP web site with new keywords and explanations of the images. However, the work has been extended due to the addition of an adjoining Japanese site. Interestingly the greatest response has been in Japan where I am lecturing, preparing for a TV documentary, completing my next book "The Paris Lines" and offering courses in Tarot and metaphysics in general. The title/theme of the course is "Real World Tarot" which makes tough but realistic comparisons between the medievil mind's symbolism and the modern mind's symbolism. Its a kind of "slash and burn - be here now - use it or lose it - clean out the attic" approach to all metaphysics. Probably too dramatic for western tastes?
Thanks for your patience,

Now I am confused, Is my copy of this set, ISBN: 0312304226, which I bought at Amazons' (about mid-December 2003) the new, sturdier one, or the old copy of the deck itself? It was on 'special' discount ... !
I can't tell but I think the cards seem quite ok, not flimsy as some people have stated earlier.
If anyone knows, I appreciate your input

Hi Feebie
I have the original older set and our ISBN numbers are the same.

Thank you lark.
I compared the card stock of this deck to a couple of other decks I own, and they seem- more or less- to be of the same card stock quality ( which is rather thin ), such as ( but nobody complained about these ...! ); however, as the cards themselves are larger in size they may feel flimsier .
My cards have J. Philips Thomas 2002 printed on the back.
I don't know if a new cards/book set would have a different ISBN #

As a point of accuracy, Tarot of Prague is actually on heavier card stock than the first Tarot de Paris - heavier by quite a bit in fact (I can give details if necessary, but probably this is not very interesting).
But one difference is that it is matt lacquered in antique style, which makes it feel different.
For the next deck we are thinking of changing paper, but it will be of a different type altogether and will feel less antique (because the new deck really has a different "feel").
For the record, I did think Tarot de Paris cardstock was perhaps a little light - but honestly I didn't have a big problem with it. I think it's basically not too bad.

The card stock is a little lighter than what I'm used to because I have alot of USGames and Llewellyn decks.
And then I tend to judge all other decks on that kind of card stock.
Tarot De Paris has such a nice large size card which I think makes the light card stock more noticable.
I too can live with the card stock but what bothers me is my cards have those little nubbies all over the sides like a pop out deck.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to carefully get rid of these. A gentle nail file?
This is such a beautiful deck and it really deserved a deluxe card stock.
By the way JPT I love the beautiful scarf that came with the deck.
A lovely touch that makes it special.

I did this to all the (first edition) decks I personally sent out. Simply take a sheet of of 300 - 400 weight sand paper and tape the corners to a table top. Bind ALL the cards together tightly with a rubber band. Then squeeze the deck tightly together as you sand the edge of the whole deck back forth running the length of the card. They will become very smooth with little effort. AGAIN ...Do not sand across the edges - Sand ONLY by following the length of the deck.
good luck!
BYO the new edition does not have that probelem!!
