My Amber Tarot arrived this morning, and it is the most beautiful deck I have ever seen!
All the cards are so rich and 'alive'; I have only had a chance to look through them, not to study them, but I'm pretty sure that this is The One. I even adore the pip Minors- they have so much depth to them, more than I thought they would.
I love this deck, and now completely appreciate how it came to be so expensive. I'm in love!

Yay! I'm so glad you found an Amber deck and that it exceeded your expectations, even after reading the raves in the other thread! Aren't the colors vibrant? Enjoy your cards, Dark Angel.

After such enthusiasim I had to have a look at the pictures. Beautiful Majors, indeed I even considered it for my wishlist. However, the pips, whilst I do read with them, put me off. Hmmm, still, maybe....

Congratulations Dark Angel!
The online scans of this deck really don't do it justice, do they? :)
I love this deck too, and I am not into decks that don't have illustrated pips. Not yet, anyway...

The more I work with it, the more I love it; it's so accurate as well as being stunningly beautiful.
I like the way the pips break up the deck; if every card were as rich as the Majors, Courts and Aces, the deck might be too busy to use.
The level of symbolism in the Amber is incredible, and with each look I see something new. For example, the staff held by the High Priest - 8 stars, the number of Justice, and arranged in the same pattern as the stars in The Star; the teachings of the High Priest may bring Justice and Hope, as long as we have faith in them.

Your comments on the deck reflect my views, as well -- the pips are a welcome departure from the wealth of detail and richness of the majors. I don't usually favor decks with unillustrated pips (Robert Place's decks are an exception), but these are beautiful in their own way and really modulate the tone of the majors.
