I've noticed that a Pinocchio playing card deck is out in the stores issued by Lo Scarabeo, using designs from the 1994 majors-only art deck i Tarocchi di Pinocchio, by artist Iassen Ghiuselev. I assume the art deck was itself adapted from The Adventures of Pinocchio, illustrated by Iassen Ghiuselev, Turin, Ideogramma, 1994.
The 1994 book was re-published in 2002 (by Simply Read Books) in English, with additional illustrations as The Adventures of Pinocchio: The Story of a Puppet.
The amazon site says about the 2002 book that "New illustrations by Iassen Ghiuselev accompany his 1994 award-winning originals and are distinguished by their museum quality."
I'm hoping Lo Scarabeo has plans to do also do 78 card tarot deck from these illustrations. I'll be the first in line...
Any one have any inside info? Anyone have the majors only art deck version?

Pinocchio was the one Disney movie that scared me; not sure why!
So a deck based on the story would probably freak me out a bit. :)
The artwork's good though. :)

I have the majors deck and it is amazingly beautiful, just a shame I can't read Italian !! It doesn't spoil it though, the pictures are just breath-takingly beautiful.
If LS does a 78 card version i would snap it up ! I dare not use mine.

I really appreciate the work of Iassen Ghiuselev (Tarot of the III Millennium). He really brings a qualitative refinement to the decks that he works on. I would enjoy seeing what else he could do.

I have the majors deck also, it is beautiful. (If I have a "theme" to my collection it is decks based on books...)
I was surprised when I saw how large this deck was, too. I guess I hadn't paid attention to the dimensions when I was looking at them - but all the better to see the artwork.
I would definately be interested in a 78 card version as well.
