I'm using Tarot Nova right now and its my only deck. I just wanted to know if you think I should get a different deck or not. I have read a friends cards with Nova and he said most was right. Anyway I was sondering what you more experience people thought.

Hi c0de:
How do YOU feel about this deck? Do you 'click' with it? All of my decks have been purchased because the meanings come through to me right away via the imagery on the cards. Of all of my decks, I tend to favor the Robin Wood Deck. It really works for me!

I don't have the Nova Tarot. There's a review about the Nova Tarot which suggests that even though the Nova Tarot is based on the Rider-Waite deck imagery, the Nova Tarot imagery is whimsical in such a way that it's not always easy to relate the Nova images to the range of card meanings (keywords) associated with the individual cards of the RW deck.

If the Nova works for you and you're happy with it, certainly don't feel bad about continuing to use it. However, to see a wider range of card meanings, you may wish to go onto the RW deck or a deck more closely modelled after the RW imagery and card meanings than the Nova.

Here's a more positive view of this deck:

Like Rusty Neon, I think you should continue to work with this deck if you like it. I suggest looking at the pictures and coming up with your own meanings based on what the pictures suggest to you (this is really the best way of reading any deck).
If you're interested in tarot as a field of study, eventually you may want to get ahold of other decks and books to round out your tarot experience. In particular, a majority of tarot books are written with the Rider Waite deck in mind. But if you just want to have a tarot deck to do readings with, I think the Tarot Nova is fine.

And my review of it is here :)
I don't think it is an easy deck for a beginner, but if you click with it, then go for it! Any deck that works for you is the right deck for you. Hope you have fun with it.
Of course, you might want another deck as well, for variety, but once you start asking folks here for suggestions you risk ending up with more decks than you ever thought possible :)

No deck is a waste of time, each one adds a new angle to your understanding. The nova has very simple, playful images so perhaps after you have practiced with it, you might want to move to cards with more traditional symbols.
The main role of the nova was to bring you into the tarot world :)
