I just got my Sacred Circle Tarot in the mail today. From just looking over the cards, it is a gorgeous deck! I'm so happy I got it. The only thing I'm not too pleased with, and this has everything to do with Llewellyn, and not the deck, is that funky big white cardboard box they give you to put it in. But, that just gives me more reason to get off my butt and make its own bag, along with all of my other decks. :)
It seems like a deck that likes to have ritual and mystery around it, like, good background music, candle light, etc. Anyone else have that experience?

Hi Tri!

I love my Sacred Circle cards...they definitely have an air of mystery about them, and are perfectly suited for meditation as well as intuitive readings...the figures almost seem to pop right out of the cards and start talking to you (uh-oh, she's hearing VOICES again! hehe :P) Well, you know what I mean!

I recently did a reading for a friend with these cards, and I was amazed by the strong connection I had with the SC during the reading. I trusted my intuition (which is a learning process for me) and the cards responded by giving me the information I was asking for....the outcome was an insightful, accurate reading that my friend described as "dead on".

When reading with these cards, I create a "mood" by sitting in a quiet space, listening to soft, instrumental music and the smell of sage burning. I usually start by lighting a candle or two and asking for guidance from above, that I may interpret from the cards the information being requested by the querent.

Hope this is helpful...enjoy your Sacred Circle deck!

Hi Triquetra,

I ordered my Sacred Circle as a sort of Christmas present, it came just after christmas. I've looked through them and used them a couple of times but not really had the time yet to fully get into them.

I surprised myself with this one because I don't usually like the photo/collage decks but I checked out all the cards online and I did like them. And I have to say they are much nicer in the hand. The colours used blend nicely with the images and they are a nice size to handle.

I also wasn't impressed with the packaging, with the US Games deck and book sets you get the actual box for the deck and a slip box for the book. It is something Llewellyn should get sorted out. The Osho Zen came in a plastic box very much like a video box for that book and deck - I wish they would all use the same idea. :)

Yup, I got the book as well with it, though I haven't been able to get into it yet, as I have The Witches' Qabala and The Forest of Souls waiting for me, as well as (*crosses her fingers*) The Witches' Tarot and 78 Degrees of Wisdom coming in tomorrow, hopefully.

I also have the Sacred Circle Tarot and I think it will forever remain one of my favourites. I'm not even sure why since I'm not into Celtic mythology and I really don't like some of the photographs. But it was the first deck I had (actually it was the Crowley Thoth but being a total beginner I was overwhelmed, put it aside and later bought the SC). I'm more experienced now than a few years ago but the Thoth still doesn't speak to me.
Anyway, I learned most of my reading skills from the SC and for a long time being my only deck I spent a wonderful time with it and got some very insightful and encouraging readings. This is one of two decks I certainly don't want to miss anymore. I especially love the Major Arcana and the author's take on the Fool's journey. The book is pretty good and offers a LOT of information. The descriptions of the cards are very detailed but I rather use my own interpreations than the given meanings.

Enjoy your deck! :)

Sacred Circle was my second deck, and the only one I had until I met you guys! I haven't brought it out in a while, mainly because I've been using the World Spirit pretty much exclusively. But this thread makes me want to break out some Celtic music, light some candles and see what the SC has to say.

Man, I wish I could go home....it's my lucky day, Friday the 13th and I'd love to spend it with my decks all ALONE!!!

Hi 13thFaeChylde!

I just recently acquired the Sacred Circle and I love it. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not because I had the Fairy Ring which I didn't like and ended up trading it away.

The Sacred Circle is so appealing to me and the scenic pips are very intuitive to me. I love nature anyway!!

So, Friday the 13th is your lucky day too. My mother was born on Friday the 13th (Oct) and I was born on Saturday the 13th (Jan) so I feel very connected to the day!!!

Gah, now I have to wait for a few hours to get 78 Degrees, and hope its there when I run to the post office, otherwise I have to wait till Tuesday. :(

Hi Triquetra,

78 Degrees is a good book too, I've only had the full version for a few months but its a kind of 'everything you ever wanted to know about the Rider Waite and some things you would never have guessed in a million years' book. lol - It's sort of like a classic, not the kind of book you would read in a couple of weeks or maybe ever read all the way through, but a book that will get battered because you keep using it for reference.

I wish I'd have bought the full copy a couple of years ago. I had the Majors version second hand but it was so battered it just stood on my bookshelf looking, well battered lol. Hope you get yours soon. :)

I got it yesterday, and so far I've read the first two chapters, I love the things in it! It's amazing.
