I have these two decks:
Knapp-Hall Tarot by Manly P. hall
Papus Tarot Deck by Stuart R. Kaplan
Is there anything I should know about these decks?
What kind of decks should I be looking for in the collectors items. I have found a new & used book store that sells cards but I don't know what to look for.
Thanks for any replys.

If you are collecting decks for investment value only, obviously the rarest decks you can find will be the best investments, the longer a deck is out of print without being reprinted the higher its value. If, on the other hand, you are just beginning a collection, then the best advice is to acquire the decks that you like the look of.
A fun way to spend several hours is to go to the Tarot Garden Boutique and look through the decks there. Many of these are desirable decks, and you can begin to get a sense of what you want to acquire. It may be that you will focus on a particular deck style, such as decks made in the Marseilles style, or the RWS style, or even the Thoth style. Perhaps you will discover a liking for black-and-white decks, or decks of a particular art style. It's your choice.
This is addictive, though. If you suddenly conceive a lust for an out-of-print deck, be prepared to pay more than you otherwise would for it. Join the deck sharks on Ebay, circling the waters of the tarot deck ocean, waiting for the molecule of tarot deck blood in the water to attract your rapacious attention. Fight and struggle with the other sharks for possession of THE DECK; gloat when you win, curse when you lose. Pretty soon your paycheck doesn't seem large enough, and you begin contemplating petty robberies and wonder if you should, perhaps, check into tarot deck rehab.... too late, sucker, you're addicted, the monkey is on your back! Mwaa haaaa haa haaaa!

An original 1929 Knapp Hall (not the copy that us common mortals possess) went for 510 US dollars on e-bay about ten days ago. But I'm pretty certain that it could have gone up to 700 or 800 if the bidding had continued.

I tend to think that particular auction went to 500 because the 1918 De Laurance RWS was there; it has gone for 500 the last few times it appeared. I'd like to have seen what the two decks would have done separately; whoever won it got a good deal. There was even an original Albano-Waite slumming with the big boys!

Eek, thanks for curing me BEFORE I got to that point . . . I'll stick with my piles of Borders-available cards. Whew! Saved in the nick of time!
