Now the silk cloth was cool, but the cards themselves just don't work for me. Trying ot use this deck is like trying to read greek, and me and greek don't get along either. I like the way the book describes the situations, the stories, and breaks down teh cards, but when i lay them out on my table, it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm going to break them out again just to be sure, but they haven't been the most compatible deck.
Anyone elses opinions???

Give it another shot, just to be sure, but if you don't feel a connection, then it's probably just not a deck for you.
I had exactly the same reaction to a couple of decks; I think it's just a personality thing.
I've just started studying the Mythic, but because I've been interested in Greek mythology for a long time, we get along quite well. But it's like any theme deck, I suppose, because if the theme doesn't do it for you, then the cards probably won't either.
I'm sure someone would be happy to trade with you if you end up deciding it really isn't for you.

This was one of my first decks and my appreciation of it has deepened over the years. The artwork doesn't appeal to me, but I've always been able to read very clearly with it and it speaks to me loud and clear -- so much so, that the artwork and themes have increasingly endeared themselves to me. There are other decks I read with more often, but each time I take out the Mythic deck my respect and admiration for it expands.

I've had the same experience as you paradoxx.
I gave the deck to my neice who eats, sleeps and breathes mythology.
So it has a very good home.
Your right it had a nice book and it did do justice to the cards, but in the end it just turned out I wasn't all that interested in mythology.
Maybe later.
I've had my Nefertari's deck for a long time and never did much with it, but I have recently bought a book about Egyptian hieroglyphs.
And I am having the most fun looking them up and finding out the hidden meanings on the cards in the book.
Only telling you this because 2 years ago I probably would have though doing that would be a big "yawn."
But hey, we grow and change and learn.
So give the little buggers another look but if it doesn't work for you, you can trade.
Maybe the Nefertari's? :D

IT does seem to be teh artwork that gives me some problems. I even went through the entire deck card by card, but the majority of the faces seem so wooden and unreal. At the same time, there is a great deal of depth to the cards (the suit of cups especially) and i like the recurring theme of the triangular greek archetechure.
Some of the cards call to me (the hermit for example) while others seem oddly out of place (the world and magician). Not to even mention the size of the suits on the aces, that just seems oddly out of place.
Maybe a study group analysis would bring out the more difficult aspects of this deck.

Paradoxx, I have to agree with you. I cannot read easily with the Mythic deck either, I assumed that for me there is just too much going on - too many themes maybe and this confused the message for me.
I know it's a really popular one and works for many - but if a deck just doesnt't read out for me - when many others do - then I don't use it.
