New Lisa Hunt Tarot....

... After admiring the art of my newly purchased Shapeshifter Tarot.. (and her sister, the Celtic Dragon).. I was browsing Lisa Hunt's website... She has some beautiful artwork!!! I noticed on the one page that she is coming out with ANOTHER tarot deck... It looks like it may be goddess oriented. Another for the wishlist!

... it says that llewellyn is publishing the deck in 2004... so hopefully we'll see more soon!!!!!! .. and, no dolphin-daze yet.. but i'll let you know as soon as it arrives!

thank you dolphinprincess!!! I've wanted a Goddess deck for a long time, but couldn't find one that really screamed at me .... but this one does. We have very similar tastes in decks, I think. :)

I'm finding a few people here recently that have very similar tastes as me... and we're starting to become very *bad* but *fun* influences on each other! I almost bought the Goddess Tarot a few times.. but didn't... but I think I'll definitely get this one. ...!!!!

i will be getting that deck for her artwork is the primary reasons i had to get celtic dragon and shapeshifter tarot. i am glad she is writing it herself, it would be like smith writing her book to the rider or harris writing her book to the toth :O)

I went to the site and saw that she had another deck in the works, but where did you find the theme? I saw no mention of that. Are you refering to her "Celestial Goddess" book of a few years back? Just curious.

Another Goddess deck? *Shrugs* I guess I'll have to wait and see more cards before I consider buying this one... My recent experience of the concepts of Goddesses in the artwork of fantasy artists has not been good. They seem to think that all Goddesses, no matter which ones, should be young, sexy nymphs. I'm hoping Lisa Hunt doesn't go this way with her deck, because it is something that always spoils Goddess images for me: making Cerridwen some young maiden, or giving Hecate some wings, various Gothic tatoos, and a sultry 'come to me' expression... It just spoils it. Hopefully Lisa will get across the meaning of these Goddesses, instead of just going the easier route and painting them because they look pretty. :D I wish they'd show more cards as a sneak preview though! Under the sneak preview it says that the picture of Gaia is part of the deck.. and it mentions her many Goddess paintings..So I assume it is a Goddess based deck... This is my will hmm i'll make u tea? lol OK so i couldnt be a Charmed witch, but the humble pagan i am would love a God themed deck - a few Thoths, Ra's, Cernunos', Osiris, hell i'd even give Jesus ago (though not technically a god) as long as there was one! The Eternal Libra Sezo x

DECK UPDATE: Since Lunakasha and Lark were able to get some info on the Enchanted Forest deck by emailing US Games... I decided to email Llewellyn for some info on this one... Sadly, it looks like its gonna be awhile.. and it may not be Goddess based, but about animals... Lisa Hunt sometimes will have more light-illuminated features for modern audiences and the softness of her paintings are actually very family-friendly, I'm thinking...so her style is more reflective of modern tastes than mine, probably. I really like the concept of this deck... animals as divine Gods and Goddesses of various pantheons. I am thinking this is another deck that I have to seriously watch for.

OOOOOH! I'm loving it! Especially that she used Coyote as the Fool. I did that too, in my deck! And I'm also very happy to see some Gods in this deck (Horus and Ganesha) even though the deck is not all about Gods like Kiama wants. ;)

OOOOHHHHH! I am SO excited for this deck! I am going crazy because all of the decks that I know I am going to LOVE have not been released yet. I feel like a little kid waiting so impatiently for Christmas. I think the Wheel card is amazing!! Thank you so much Cerulean for posting this link.
