I thought of Matisse's drawings:

The deck, a sample of box and two cards:

You have to enter Unmei Tarot in Advanced search and 78 cards: the author/artist listing doesn't agree. If you enter Japan as the country of origin, it will narrow the search and then you can browse the scans.
My last Asian tarot outstanding order (backordered) and a bit of surprise, because it has all 78 cards and not an odd numbering --just odd titles. I cannot translate the slim book, but because of the English titles and 78 pictures and whimsical pips in watercolor...and vaguely Matisse-drawing like feel.
Actually, if I can find a way to scan the Aces in the next few weeks, it has a Thoth-like feel, although it is the airiest (not quite whimsical) art-style deck that might lightly pay homage to the Thoth.
I'll have to check out the Tarot of the Spirit's Aces.
