Just a comment to the above effect. When I bought this deck recently, I rather expected it to be purely an (albeit attractive) ART deck. Yes, the images suggest relatively little to do with "conventional" (e.g. RWS) meanings... BUT they are really quite evocative - perhaps owing to their (largely) human content? For those with a mind to interpret images, this deck might actually be one of the better ones... ;)
Need I say more: http://www.aeclectic.net/leonardo-da-vinci/review.shtml
Now if only I hadn't been told the majors/minors were by different artists...
But even THAT wasn't immediately obvious... :D

I have had this deck a couple weeks now. I bought it because I wanted to see how I would read without colour & thought this deck looked serious & classy.
I find it has a lot of people & they are always looking serious. I like this deck but will just do readings for myself for study because I don't know much about art either.

The majors are really nice. I did not originally realize that the majors and minors were by different artists but I could tell the difference when I got the cards in my hands, thus I only use the majors since I find the minors to be distracting and the vibe is wrong (I can see the difference between the majors and minors).

I've heard both sides of the story as well. This was one of the first decks on my wishlist before it got super-long. It may be a while but I still plan to get it some day :)

It's (ever so) slightly harder to live with - once you know the difference is there.
Maybe one just gets TWO decks for the price of one? I've always kinda fancied this business of reading minors only. Some (most?) days, I only want to know about the mundane! I'd rather ignore whether I'm to be run over by a bus... ;)

P.S. It isn't as "irregular" in this respect as the Vargo Gothic. Aaaaaargh! })

Hey Macav... I'm banking on it! This deck is on its way to me, I was thinking that it might be a fun one to try image-reading with....

I only want one card from the deck. And that is the Two of Coins.
I wish Lo Scarabeo would call Coins coins, and Pentacles pentacles and not mix up the two.
These are NOT pentacles.... since when are Pentacles round?
(I have so many peeves with Lo Scarabeo that I will soon be able to write a book.)

Yes, Diana. An undeniably cute... CAT, Eh? Firemaiden, I'm sure you will like the Leonardo. :)
As a mental list of "possibles", from LoScarabeo, I was keeping in mind: Leornardo, Bruegel, Durer and Giotto. I was tempted by the Giotto, but was reading yesterday that it was completely depressing(?) - Nary a posive image in sight! I thought I knew a little about Durer - with his WITCH imagery (e.g. "die Hexen") but it mostly didn't seem like that. Totally Durer, perhaps? Just not as I imagined...
I had my hands on a Bruegle, in a chain book store recently -They had two copies. One had been "broken into" (a pet peeve with shoppers!) They had scratched the celophane (kinda) off and rammed the deck back into the box hurridly, crushing the LWB. Being a "public spirited" sort, I took the only other (similar) deck and made one good copy from the remainants! On my way to the checkout, I just... changed my mind. Next time I'm in there, I'll see if either have deteriorated further - Heheh. Or has Macavity's collection reached saturation? :D
One of the FEW remaining (and to annoy Marseille-ists) decks I have my eye on is THIS one. It's (now) quite old, rather delicate... Pretty even (for a Marseille) AND no need of a LWB either! But, until I looked recently at LoS's catalogue, I hadn't seen the ESTENSI! They must be keeping that one a secret?

I thought this deck would be the one, but I was wrong. Again!
May have to trade it soon.
There is just so many times I just don't get it! lol
It's good experience dealing with the decks. You win some & lose some.

I like the Leonardo. Its fun to read with. It's creepy, the lighting is "twilight zone" the figures look cadaverous. It gives a sort of "fifth dimension" aspect.

I've been quite smitten with this deck since the impulse purchase. At the time I'd no idea how many of the images are actually referenced from Leonardo's work.
This site <http://gallery.euroweb.hu/index1.html> (thanks to the H&I forum for link!) has a wonderful collection of da Vinci's work in all forms. I've already recognized several of the cards from just a short time of browsing his sketches and studies: 6Swords with cow steering the boat, Knave of Coins, the Hanged Man, and there are a couple sketches of children with cats, Diana!
Anyone have a thought about why Justice is holding Prudence's mirror?
