Wouldn't these be great for a dairy farmer tarot reader?

hmmmm...
dunno. when i think of vache folle, i see these young ppl in france and the uk who died because they ate too many candies loaded with bovine gelatine.
i don't find it hilarious. the perspective that our degenerated society succeded in creating a new lethal disease (creuzfeldt-jacob), that it was all once again because of the money and that governments chose not to react fast enough, well, i have a hard time finding this deck funny.
but then again, i'm one of the few who was not bothered by the metrosexual tarot so my sense of humour must be rotten somehow.

I failed to see the funny side to these too. There's just something not right about them.
What next the cancer tarot??

I noticed that we have two different sides here. The North American and the European points of view. Ppl in the US and Canada didn't have to worry like we did here in Europe, that's probably why this "mad cow" thing is hard to be funny for us. We think of moms transmitting this disease to their foetuses, moms feeding their babies with jar food of questionable quality, kids eating in fast foods, etc.
And governments, like always, lying, and politics somehow saving their skins ...
I'm sorry, this is off topic and not what you want to read on a tarot board. I'll keep off this thread from now. Just wanted to explain i make such a big deal out of this...
Blessings,
Kissa
edited to add: i'm not angry at anybody for loving the deck! ;-)

We got it in the US and Canada now too, but not as badly as what the UK & Europe had.
My sister's a dairy farmer, I wonder if she'd be interested in the cow cards? She's pretty religious, and took a dim view on my decks when she saw them...

I get both sets of arguments, for and against the 'mad cow' humor.... I personally think there's a connection between Creutzfeld/Jacob, BSE and Alzheimer's in humans.
Still, I look at the card images and laugh. They're very well-done.
Perhaps I can see them as funny because I'm vegetarian...?

I cannot take these cards seriously as some of you do...it's not at all that I minimize or downplay the seriousness of the BSE phenomena (and actually i'm in the middle of the contraversy by living in Alberta, mad cow country), but if I was to get stressed, worried, put negative analogies/make negative connections to everything bad that happens in life/this world, I would be an unhappy, miserable person always looking for and expecting bad to happen to me and my family.... I chose to look at life positively, not worry about what might happen, and never take the negative outlook on things...I want to enjoy my time on this earth...to me these are just cards, goofy cards that make me smile. Nothing more, nothing less....
