I noticed this deck on the AT recent features section. Anyone here have this (this is the color 78-card version, not the B&W Majors only set)? It seems to be a bit quirky a la the Bruegel. I have it on order, but wanted to see the opinion of the good folks here at AT before it is too late to cancel.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I have this deck, though i haven't studied it much. I think if you like the Bruegel you will like this one. From my quick glances, it doesn't appear to have as much going on as the Bruegel does but it is different in that good way.
Don't know if that helps any.

Just got this deck and I'm really not sure about it. I like the idea of an animal to represent each suit of the Minors, but I don't know if I can live with the poor kebabed fox on the Eight of Swords!

Hi Dan,
I'd really recommend this deck - I think the art is extremely beautiful and I think there's a lot of insight you can get out of the cards. I bought it in the spur of the moment when I saw it in a local shop, and have to say that I wasn't disappointed!
In the end, it's up to you, of course, so maybe, if you didn't know about it, this site might be helpful, as it shows the whole deck.
Regards,
Spoonbender

Thanks for all your input, and thanks for the link Spoonbender.
I am still on the fence on this one. The artwork is beautiful but I am not so sure about the whole suit of swords. Not sure I am picking up any vibes from them or not. The Court Cards are nice and the rest of the deck as a whole seems readable. I may stick with it and see how well I can read with it (I still haven't done a reading with my Bruegel, but that hasn't stopped me from loving it).

I have it, I love it, i started a thread on it awhile back. I've used it for readings (see my spoof readings in exchange) and for me it is one of the decks that really talks to me the most powerfully. The symbols really work, on all sorts of levels. It has a little bit of a "sick and twisted" feel. I like that.

Well the decision was made for me - the package is readying for shipment.
I look forward to studying this deck a little closer. I really, REALLY have to stop adding decks and start paying closer attention to the ones I have, hehe.

OMG, I loooove this deck. I THOUGHT that nobody else in the world appreciated it. But it's a lovely deck! It speaks right to me, in a voice that's so close & gentle . . . it's one of the few decks that lives, & has lived for some time, right in the bedroom where I sleep. The art is . . . well, it may as well have come right out of my own heart, it feels that personal to me. Sort of like a realm of childhood or dream. The birds (dark & light--cups & pentacles) are . . . well, I'm at a loss for words. This is a beautiful, strange, & haunting deck.
I do take exception to the Queen of Pentacles, though. What's with the tongue thing? & the Lovers card, too, is more than a bit strange . . .
I guess this is the artists' tribute to Durer (??)
I posted a blurb on Amazon.com's website when I first got this deck, about how earthy the people in it are, & by contrast how ethereal/spiritual the animals feel. The people are okay (earthy is good!) but the animals really make this deck, IMO. It's fundamentally an animal deck. I'm so glad to hear that someone other than myself has noticed/is using it.
