Has anyone got this deck? What are your views on it?
Tarot of the New Vision
I think that it is very interesting, and a nice take on the RW. In my opinion, Lo Scarabeo are consistently publishing excellent decks.

Centaur it's out in a mini size now too.
In case you don't want to shell out the big bucks for the full size deck.

Hi Lark,
By mini-size do you mean the tiny one's that come on a key-chain?

No it's bigger than that. 44mm X 80mm they go for $9.95 from Llewellyn's.
You might even be able to find it for less from a half price place.
I think it's a good idea.
Especially for decks you might want in your collection just to use as comparison decks.

I might do that! Thanks for the info! I always thought that mini-size would be the pixie-version or something.

I believe I am probably repeating myself from the other thread, but I have this deck and I continue to be on the fence about it.
What drew me to it is the fact that having known the RWS images for sooooo many years, I thought it was nice to have a different perspective. For some cards it works while for others it doesn't. Some of the scenes are just plain boring.
Overall, I doubt very much I will ever use this deck for a reading but it does make an interesting study deck. I am glad I have it in my collection, but I very rarely take it out of its box.

My New Vision Mini has two Moon cards and no Tower--that is, one of the cards with the Moon art is labeled Tower. Clearly a printing error of some sort. You might want to wait a bit for them to get that fixed.
My trusty RW mini from USG has been my reading deck for twenty years.

I'm on the fence about the New Vision as well. In some cases the change of view has really added to the meaning of the card, for me. In other cases, it has sort of ruined the mental image I've always had.
I'm expecting to recieve a copy of the Universal Waite shortly from a trade (my first actual RWS deck!), and I am looking forward to laying out the cards side by side to see what other insight I can gain.

I got the New Vision Mini from Tarotgardenand they included the corrected Tower card with the deck. So the corrected card must be available by writing to Lo Scarabeo, I would think.
I haven't looked at the deck very much yet, but I had a favorable impression of most of the cards on my first few passes through the deck. It does get a little disconcerting seeing only the backs of so many people, but there's plenty of added material to agree or disagree with. The artists added animals to almost every card, which is cool. Justice shows two women playing tug of war with a baby in a basket -- a King Solomon reference, no doubt.
All in all, an excellent comparative deck, IMO.
Peace,
Melvis
