Does anyone have this deck/set?
Is it a 'readable' deck? How useful is the accompanying book?
Are the images as beautiful as they seem ?
I would appreciate anyone's opinion and input in this regard.
Are there any drawbacks to the deck ?
Not that I am changing my mind, because I have already ordered this set , after it had been on my on/off list for a while.
I was undecided between this deck and the Inner Child Cards, but then WOC won over the IC.
Anyone...??

WOC is a great deck, but the minors can be a challenge to read. There's some Aeclectic posts from an earlier study group that cover the minors (Ace through 8). I appreciate how Genetti has her own system for the minors, so when she departs from the Rider-Waite meanings, which is more often than not, the departure is purposeful. Many other decks depart from the RW on random cards without any sense (for example, Ship of Fools 8 of Swords "messing around in boats").
Actually, the entire WOC deck ties into her system for understanding the tarot, which she explains in the book. The book is short on traditional DMs, but it is a nontraditional deck.
Personally, it's my favorite pagan deck.

Thank you. I found the earlier posts for this deck.
I wonder why they stopped there..!

I love this deck quite alot, and it has a special place in my heart (along with quite a few other decks, but that's not the point!) I wrote a review of this deck for Tarot Passages, and I pretty much still feel what I said in it:

I highly recommend the deck, though I believe it is quite hard to obtain?
Blessings,

Your review is very extensive, and I enjoyed it a lot; I will definitely read it once again when I receive my deck and book .
Now I can hardly wait for both to arrive, so I can start working on them immediately.

I have it. I like the artwork a lot. For some reason I haven't tried to read with it. Maybe I'll give it a shot.
One thing bothering me is, I feel a political agenda a mile long behind some of the cards.

Hi firemaiden,
my english is not as good as yours so i am not sure i understand what you mean by this "political agenda a mile long...". could you be more precise? do you refer to the feminist/ecologist views of A. Genetti?
thanks in advance,
Oh! ... and feebie BTW...
i have this set too. great artwork, researched work, not a commercial deck to make quick money. luckily, the deck comes with the book, because the minors are non-scenic. very good book. not an easy deck but worth studying. i only read "daily cards" with it. i was bothered by one thing: no children in the whole deck. so my favourite decks still are tarot of prague and songs for the journey home, for their beautiful references to motherhood. off topic my point is "maiden, mother, crone" and no mother at all in the WOC, that bugs me.
if you love genetti's artwork, she has her own website http://www.wheelofchange.com/
and she was part of the collective project "artist's inner vision" for which she drew three cards http://www.psymon.com/tarot/artists.html
enjoy!...

Yep, spot on there I think Firemaiden. I wouldn't call it a political agenda though: more an 'eco-spiritual agenda', which began to annoy me after reading it in every single card description.
But I think the deck can be used very well if you don't follow the agenda being pushed. Which is lucky, because it's a beautiful deck, and it would be a shame to see it fettered by agendas.

After long last, I have received my signed copy of the book and the deck, and I am very impressed already and had started doing readings with it, and writing in my journal ( which I rarely do )
The 2 of disks, explained in the book as active/receptive relationship, answered my initial query upon holding the cards about what I can learn from the deck offhand, and this is very interesting.
I had also done the 2 ( me and my partner) , 3 ( sun- conscious, moon-unconscious-,and the rising sign-personal ), and the 4 ( triangle + outcome ) readings, and I am busy at the moment looking through the latter meanings in the book.
I am very impressed with the diversity of the art work and the richness of the images on these cards which pays much attention to details.

Feebie, thank you for this spread. A day or two I found a scandalously cheap copy of the set on amazon, and it's on it's way to me. I can't wait to add my two cents, and I'm off to read Kiama's review now!
In answer to someone's question, it doesn't seem to be that HTF in the States.
