Is the Dreampower Tarot worth it?

It looks lovely from online scans - well, at least the Majors do - but at $50 + International shipping charges the price is a bit steep. Do any of you have this deck, and would you say it's worth stretching the budget for?

IMHO, no, don't bother. I am reluctant to even call this deck a tarot deck. The "Majors" are indeed quite lovely, but bear no resemblance to the Majors of a true tarot. And the Minors are just...bleah, in comparison. I pull it out every now and then, and wonder, why????? There are more worthwhile decks to stretch the budget for (like my newly-arrived copy of the Gilded!). Your mileage may vary. Asher

I LOVE the Dreampower. I recently acquired it for a trade, but fell in love with it. The majors and courts are exquisite...second to few I would say. The book accompanying it bears study for a new take on tarot. I'm not a person who's hung up on whether or not decks are faithful to what we call traditional meanings. I enjoy tarot as a mind and intuition expansion tool, and love decks that rewrite things and invite me to think and experience this work in a new way. That said, I got a really good deal on eBay. I'm not convinced you'll have to pay $50 if you bide your time. The minors are pips, but I find them particularly evocative for some reason. I like the keywords. You can have an online reading with the deck at RJ Stewart's site. This helped me start to fall for it...it was really in-depth, and when I got the deck I pulled some of the cards that showed up to review the reading. I'm a fan,needless to say.

Hmmm - two totally opposing opinions, now what to do??!!??. As always I'm drawn towards erring on the side of purchase rather than non-purchase :D! However I'm going to be offline for about 10 days over Easter while I take a little break in the country, so I think I'll desist until after that, and see how I feel then. "Err on the side of purchase"! Aha, there is a method to my madness! This one makes sense to do, because it will have trade or resale value.
