I've just been onto Amazon UK and ordered a German edition of the Morgan Greer - new. :D
I've trawled the web for months trying to get this deck in another language and there they were on Amazon, 6 to 9 days I think delivery . I would have taken Italian too but they are still unavailable. Also for anyone else who may be interested they have the Spanish edition too.
I only went on to see if they had new orders of the Golden in yet, they haven't, so checked on the Morgan Greer and there they were, all new not used.
This is me sitting here very happy. :D

Using decks in a foreign language in reading for the public is a simple trick to make the reader seem mysterious and possessing arcane knowledge. It is a Wizard of Oz harmless humbug to make the reading more entertaining. Of course, this doesn't apply to those who are actually fluent in foreign languages!
Also, the trick doesn't work if you can't pronounce the foreign language words on the cards!

For those who like a given deck but find the keywords printed on its cards to be distracting or irritating, getting a version of that deck in a foreign language that they don't know is a good way of dealing with the keywords.
Le_Corsair, I like what you say about foreign languages adding mystery. It would be interesting to see tarot decks available with Latin or Ancient Greek titles.

I believe the Pythagorean Tarot has titles in Ancient Greek.

I have seen Greek versions of the RWS deck, but I would guess that it is in modern Greek; it utilizes the Greek alphabet, though, which most Westerners aren't familiar with. I think there is also a Russian version of the RWS with Cyrillic titles.

I think what started me off was the Lo Scarabeo decks I have and also the Italian Soprafino decks, see the Majors in different languages - I really wanted to see the Morgan Greer in another language - German wouldn't have been my first choice but I didn't want spanish so until I can get an Italian version - German will do :)

I like the look of French titles myself, they are the traditional titles on the Marseilles decks. The Morgan-Greer comes with French titles too, I believe.
Of course, as an American I have to state that I think that the French are cheese-eating surrender monkeys. :D

For Marseilles decks, I definitely prefer French titles. I had wanted the Dodal-inspired Carta Mundi Marseilles deck but the US Games version thereof had English titles. I have the French Carta Mundi version on order from my local bookstore and am still waiting to hear. Otherwise, maybe it'll be amazon.fr ....
