I got a factory-sealed Hanson-Roberts last week and I love it, it's perfect, except . . . the lamination is so thick that I had to manually separate the cards once I unwrapped them, and even now they feel unnaturally slick when shuffling. They slide around, they fall out, they're like drunken sailors on shore leave.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do about it?

Hey,
I had this problem with my Universal-Waite deck. I had to separate the cards manually.
BUT... it lessens with time and use. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle. My cards were behaving within one week. :)
Perhaps someone will have an even quicker solution.

Shake 'em in a plastic bag with baby powder.

After you shake them, do you bake them?

LMAO! Muhahaha. One deck of crusty over-cooked tarot cards coming up!

I've got a drunken sailor deck, my Radiant RW!!! Those slippery suckers keep slipping and sliding but the good thing is nothing can get through that coating!
My H-R isn't slippery but that one is annoyingly curved to one direction and it bothers me.

Aure, there was a really good thread about that curved deck problem last year -- click here to read it.

That's odd.. my H-R was fine when I got it. Maybe the laminating machine had too much caffeine the day your deck was produced :)
I've got a similar problem with the Tarot Nova. The artwork is beautiful in its simplicity, but the laminating is so sticky it's hard to shuffle and read with comfortably.
