I just got this delightful deck in todays mail. It's by Chris Paradis, creator of the Rock N Roll Tarot.
The deck is an homage to the old travelling circus & sideshows, or as Chris says "the world of clowns, candy, freaks and feats."
The cards are laminated, about 3 x 5 inches, reversible backs, and are all done in landscape format. Each card depicts some sort of circus perfromer or sideshow attraction, and is designed to resemble the old-fashinoed poster art seen at the big top. Astrological glyphs are also on each card.
The deck includes the Majors and the Aces along with a presentation card which is signed by the artist. The card also mentions that the full deck is forthcoming! Finally the deck also comes in its own bag.
A few pictures are available on the Tarot Passages website (under "Pictures Only") and the artist can be contacted at:

Wow! I love it! Thanks for showing it, Asher!
Although I want this first edition BADLY, I'll have to wait for the full deck due to a lack of finances! :( Oh well...something great to anticipate! (That Tarot Passages link is here, by the way.)
Peace,
Melvis

sigh.
This deck is really gorgeous, isn't it?
If I could afford it, I would definately want to have it in my collection.
But I would be lying if I said that I didn't get a queasy stomach feeling when I saw them.
I am about 4 cards away from finishing my own Sideshow tarot...
(with a lot of simiarity in choices... Maybe it's great minds thinking alike?)
And now I just don't have the heart to finish them anymore...
But this deck is really really nice. It reminds me a lot of the polish and Spec, and glossy promotion of a Ringling Brother's program.
I would like to see more pics of the cards.
well...ok maybe not...yet... :)
