Hi Everybody :)
I bought this deck last week, and really like it a lot.
One of the many things that I find refreshing about it; The modern day situations depicted in the cards are something I can relate too. Yes, I'm Wiccan, but with limited coven experience. I'm mainly a solitary, But I don't find that the situations in which covens are shown intimidate me in any way. I find that if I apply the concept of group dynamics (family, friends, co- workers) to the cards, instead of a coven, it's easier for me to see emergent patterns.
Would anyone else who has experience with this deck like to comment?

I've paired this deck with the Olympus
I like the artist's style, so I actually sometimes pull cards from the Olympus and the Pagan.
Since there are many pictures where the Pagans are dressed in robes and their settings are outdoors, I sometimes get interesting and pretty spreads where the scenes are 'timeless' rather than modern. I think the color scheme is fairly natural as well, quite well done. The way the artist has detail and color washes in both the Olympus and Pagan seem to be similar.
At other times, the Pagans in 'modern' dress actually seem a little retro to me--the jeans are waist-high and straight-legged, the car and house styles have a 'generic' neighborhood feel--not Victorian, not ultramodern. So it seems 'twentieth' century, which I also like.
Just my take,
Cerulean Mari

I'm still getting to know this deck. At first i was a little turned of..i had waited for that deck for so long and somehow it did not live up to my expectations. But i'm seem to warm up to this deck more and more.
I actually don't know what turned me of. It might be something so superficial as the earthly toned colours. I mostly go for bright sparkling colours...( like the little child i still am insite ;) )
But this deck does have something special. The way the "modern"live is pictured throughout the deck without removing the spiritual.
I notice that i really like the fact that i can relate the images of this deck to my real life without "trancelating"them like i have to do with other decks. The images are filled with little details wich can give me hudge amounts of angles on the interpretation. I also think this deck is very well balanced. Now cards that don't fit in or something.
The title the pagan tarot suggest a really spiritual deck and it is ofcourse but way more grounded than most decks that are based on a "pagan"theme. I think thats the main reason why i'm starting to use this deck more..to invite the everyday live in my spiritual one and vice versa.
Love

Are you still using this deck Maan?
I have been consideriing this as my next deck to purchase (if I ever have a little extra money - my luck will need to change for that)
I have read the other thread and this discussion the readability of the deck, and it raised another question... I am curious who this deck would be good to read for? i.e. would non-pagans connect with the deck? freinds and family in general? or is it a good utilitarian/daily use deck for personal use?

I am also interested in comments regarding this deck, as I have considered purchasing it. While I am not pagan, I understand the scenes depicted and I like the natural, everday, pictures shown in the cards...

I got the deck some time ago, and have explored a bit, but not worked with it.
Thanks to your comments, I've realized it would be good for my next choice of weekly daily draw (which incidentally starts today).
Thanks!
I'm dealing with issues of handling/seeing to very practical /mundane matters, as a person who has much for fun in the dream realm. My focus has been to bring/open to the spiritual in the mundane. This deck feels, while still foreign, perfect!
I usually do a few readings with the deck I"m doing a daily draw on; I'll report back.

Well that's a difficult question. There is some nudity in the deck but that's something i hardly notice. It might be shocking for some people. I used this deck for readings for my parents, family and my friends but i have very liberal friends and family.
Like discussed before on this forum the offense taken by nudity might also be a cultural thing and we Dutchies are a very liberal country..well sexually atleast ;)
I think non pagans can relate to this deck to. Friends of mine who are not pagan connected to this deck mostly couse of the modern tast it has...there are even computers in the pictures and that did relate well with a certain computer freaky friendsof mine.
I hope you will be able to buy this deck soon. And that you enjoy it as much as i do

thank you for the insite I will keep this deck as number 1 on my want list... I am sure it will not be long...
By the way I went to the Netherlands a few years ago, and fell in love with it, partly because of the attitude of the people. I just felt like it was o.k. to be myself.
Thanks again

he he...
very unexpectedly, i get great results with this deck.
much much deeper images than i had expected.
new way of showing cards, the fool and the world (how funny btw: start and finish) come to my mind. the lovers is a great take as well, so are many of the minors.
i am really looking forward to wicce's companion book.
re: the artwork, gorgeous. the novice of wands (i think) made me think of the original rider waite: old-looking colours, nostalgic almost.
i'd never have thought this deck would work for me... ! what a nice surprise indeed!
