It was one of those decks I thought I was drawn to by seeing the images on Aeclectic and reading a review, however, when I got it, I just didn't like it....I guess that this may be a common reaction that most have about one deck or another....It's the same with the Fantastical...I bought it for my son, but I don't like it! It's not often I have a strong reaction like this to a deck, as I seem to appreciate most and many...there are some decks that don't instill excitement, but then they don't instill a strong negative feeling either, but the Fantastical and the Avalon just don't sit well with me...oh well, cards are such a subjective personal thing, aren't they?

I think this is happening to me with the Quest... when I first wanted a second deck, it was way up on my list! I kept putting it off but I finally got it, made a bag especially for it, got all ready to use it, bragged about how great the book was.....and now here I am a month or two later and I haven't done one reading with it. I just look at it and go.....eh. I think sometimes we're drawn to decks for certain reasons and don't think about the whole connection thing. Now that I finally have this deck that I wanted for so long, I realize that the artwork just isn't "me" and I don't seem to really want to work with it. On the other hand, I liked some of the images I saw online of the Vampire Tarot, but hated others, and don't even really like vampires, and yet now I have the deck and I absolutely adore it. Yet when I look at images of the Fantastical Tarot (same artist, same style of artwork) I just don't like it. But who knows. Sometimes it's just a phase, so give it a little more time (like I plan to) and see if the outlook changes. If not, oh well. Spilt milk. There's always the trading forum :D

You are right...at least if the deck doesn't grow on us, there is this forum in which we can trade! One man's poison is another man's medicine...

Dead Star,
I had the same reaction to the Quest tarot. I think perhaps it looked better online!

You could be right! I was so attracted to the idea of all its different uses--but does anyone really need all that? I'm still going to give it a chance but I may end up trading it. Oh well, 1 out of 10 ain't bad! I love all my other decks.

I liked the art of the Avalon Tarot which I got because I like the Arthurian Legend, but after trying at different times, I just can't read with it...
I keep it now as a collection item, not for readings, mediation or study.
