I ordered this deck a month ago. That was when I was still in the Christian fold. But just 2 weeks ago, I decided thoroughly and firmly that I've had it with Christianity. And the only reason I wanted the Tarot of the Saints was that it incorporated Christian beliefs.
So now I don't know what to do with it. I don't wanna open it, because if I do decide to trade it, I wanna get an equally brand new deck. But...there's that curiosity. What if this deck and its companion book are gonna give me a new insight? What if it's really great for study?
Somebody please make me less curious about this deck! LOL!
Hm...Is the Tarot of the Saints more Gnostic Christian than Roman-Catholic Christian?

You can take a look and then trade. You will get a new deck in return if you ask for one. If you don't look it may follow you until you open one.
Good Luck,

Kittaine,
I HIGHLY recommend the deck. If you want to learn about the history of tarot, the book that comes with the deck is excellent!!!
The author makes historical connections to the tarot that are very fascinating. His choice of Santa Barbara for the Tower for instance, I had no idea about the story behind her. It is SO MUCH like the tower card you could almost believe that it IS the story behind the tower card! The Tower, lightning, and fury of god all play part of the story. Here is a link if you're interested:

So, the deck alone is lovely. The book that comes with it is really, really informative and thought provoking.
As for recently firmly leaving Christianity, may I suggest not "throwing the baby out with the bathwater".. meaning, that I believe there is some wonderful truths in all religions and spiritual paths. Try to remember all the good things you learned and experienced while following that path. Your wisdom is the collection of all those experiences, discard only the useless. I find that on my journey, I come to things, experience them, leave them... but then come to them again later for deeper and renewed insights. You may come back to an understanding of Christianity at a later time that works better for you than it does now.
Yes, the deck is from a Gnostic Christian viewpoint, but it is also full of Roman Catholic symbolism. These ARE saints after all.
I think you (well, anyone really) could learn a lot from this deck. I hope you decide to keep it and highly suggest you read the book.
best,
robert

Just my two bits--if you're still not sure what to do, then you're not ready to trade it. Just leave it alone for a while and see how you feel about it once you've calmed down over the whole bad religion thing :D Just because it incorporates Christian beliefs doesn't mean it can't be very helpful and inspiring to a non-Christian. I used to be Christian, it didn't work out, now I'm Pagan and happy but I'm still very respectful and interested in other religions as well. Christian artwork doesn't turn me off at all as long as I like the look of the deck. Just thought you might want to take that into consideration before you decide :)
