I've been checking out the links and I do like the Intuitive Tarot but the artwork reminds me of something but up to yet I can't remember what. The colours used seem very pale and flow into one another - she says on the website that the deck was over 20 years in the making -
I like the simplistic tone of the deck not much symbolism to go on but just enough to make them readable. Of the cards shown I like the Empress and the Priestess - in fact all of the cards shown majors and minors were interesting.
I'm half way to pre-ordering this but I go on holiday for a week in a couple of days and I'll have another look at it when I get back - I don't want to end up with another non-traditional deck that I cant read with but I do like it. :)

Was at my local Hasting's today, browsing the Tarot decks (which were on sale at 30% off for the holiday!), and came across this deck.
This is a charming book-deck set published by St. Martin's Press. The cards are small, 3 x 4 1/2, with a simple purple back with a silver oval in the center. Purple is predominant color with this set; the box, book (cover and pages), and card backs are all purple! The small border on the front is cream-colored with small titles at the bottom.
All of the images are enclosed in an oval/egg shape "frame" which echoes the oval on the card backs. I haven't gotten into the book yet to see if this is intentional. The art work is simple, inviting and colorful (although the pallette is soft pastels). The style reminds me in some ways of Lady Frieda Harris and her Thoth paintings. Some of the cards show full figures, some show profiles and others (the Courts) are shown from the waist up. Symbolism is minimal, but the deck is readable. As the title suggests, the reader is invited to learn the cards via intuition.
Some of the images suggest RWS meanings, others more Thoth-like. And some of the images approach the abstract style. Quite an interesting, yet coherent whole, and the card stock is decent. It seems it would hold up to long term shuffling.
The book (5 1/4 x 7) includes small illustrations of each card and 2-3 pages devoted to each card. For the Majors, the book has 3 sections: Aspects of the _____(fill in card name), Working with the _____, and Dialogues with the ______. A blank page invites the reader to record his or her own impressions of the card. Finally, some "Starter Interpretations" are offered for each card, both upright and reversed.
For the Minors, an opening paragraph discusses the card's theme (For example: Seven of Cups: Grounding the Dream), and is followed by a section Working with the _____, a 1/2 page for your own notes, and again the "starter" interpretations.
A very attractive and affordable ($24.95) set, well-packaged. It's definitely worth a look!

I just saw some scans, but wondered if it reminded anyone of the Aquarian...maybe my silly vague recollection...

I have seen this deck twice in the last day or two. The cards within the box were not sealed so I was able to flick through. It did remind me a little of the Thoth, but obviously, nowhere near as detailed. I think the art is interesting but don't like the amount of border (you guessed I was going to say that, didn't you - snip, snip). It was nice to have a look through but due to the kind of decks I am interested in these days, not one I would buy, even though I can imagine it to be quite insightful and very usable for a lot of people.

I can see this in the portrait view of the court cards specifically, although the style has a bit more depth than the flat deco design of the Aquarian.
I really like her oracle deck. Beautiful! Thank you for the links Cerulean.

What a coinkydink, I just bought this deck Saturday.
I like the art, it reminds me of the Thoth, but a little softer, not quite as cubist.

I quite like the scans of this deck - it reminds me a little of Tarot of the Spirit - Thothy but feminine.

oooh - does this mean you'll be bringing it to the meeting on Saturday? I don't have much for show and tell this time but will still bring the Sakki-Sakki deck since you've not seen it in person yet.
Blessings,

Mine arrived yesterday.
Initially, I thought the picture shown through the window on the box front was a card, and was surprised -and a smidge disappointed - to find it was the book and that the cards are much smaller.
However, I laid all the majors out last night and had a gander and found I'm interested in looking further. The Hanged Man really spoke to me, and I found I felt he had more to day, as described in her book when she talks about dialoguing.
Then I had a strong energy experience with Judgement into the World. On the judgement card, it looks like the energy coming down over the figures is coming to get them to bring them home. Particularly the child; and angel seems to be reaching for him her. And then the World seemed to me to be an energy that had arrived back home from this plane, to its true place in the cosmos. Very cool, I felt this very strongly, and want to play around more with the deck. Possibly today. :)
I have so many fun ones (decks) to play with right now, I was surprised to see this one is one I'll be back to peer at voyeuristically.

I was just reminded me that the Intuitive Tarot by Cilla Conway is the same (almost) as the her Cothic Tarot. Some of the cards are reversed, but it seems to be the deck, first made in 1979, and now published. I had a thread on this deck, last year. You can see the Cothic in volume III of the Encyclopedia, pages 152,153.

Hi, Sally Anne
Oops, I haven't been back to this thread for awhile. I 'll bring it to the December meeting. I like this deck the more I use it, and I really like the oval borders, they seem to make it easier for me to enter the card.
