Oh my! The Goths are going to love this one! Check out the Chariot folks! And the 8 of Swords.
I like the colors, and the aged look to them. It's such a sad deck though, because of the sepia tone (ok, 'dark' yet melancholy), like old photo albums of people long gone. I like it but don't think I'd be using this as my reading deck because of the melancholy.
That's such a strange name for a deck, what made you choose that one? And you say it's due out this year?

I really like the look of it. The sepia tones and ageing of the photos are haunting.
The Swords are my favorite. I have an aversion to most fetish and s/m imagery, so I probably wouldn't want it for myself. But I can certainly appreciate the beauty and artistry of your deck.

Lots of work!, I like the look of your deck, somehow remembered me the Carnivale TV show because of the "sepia feeling" (30s-40s) besides the look, the cards seem consistent between each other
Look forward to read card descriptions, the Devil was not very clear to me, maybe I have to see the as many cards as possible to get the concept.
Keep the good work...

Gorgeous and lush, yet melancholy. This will be a lovely group of cards! I wish you every success.
(Ditto on The Devil, though. It's an interesting, but unclear, departure.)

Thanks Flavio on Carnivale.
I see how the cards resemble the show and that's another reason why I like them!

WOW.....I like it very much....more please!!! :D
This is a very interesting deck....dark and haunting. The High Priestess is creepy...I'm thinking Bride of Marilyn Manson!!!
I also love the Ten of Swords (nice alternative to the standard RWS version of impalement) and the Knight of Swords is very sexy!
Keep up the great work....will be checking the website for more cards...

I have to add, I really like the look of this deck also! The 'tone' ;) is so cool! I love the Heirophant- something about the imagry really grabs me. One thing I would like to see done differently (do I have the right to criticize such beautiful work?) would be the Hermit. The pose of the girl looks frightened. I really like the Hermit to be a "seeker", someone who has seperated from society to find true answers, finding them in places no one else would dare to look. I like the scenery in your card, the valley and mountain show the extent to which the girl has gone to be alone. The Hermit is one of my favorite cards, so I'm prone to being picky about it. ;) Thank you for sharing your work here, I am adding this deck to my wish list!

I am greatly impressed. The sepia tones are definitely a plus! PLEASE post progress! The feel is wonderfully mystical. I really like the Priestess card. She gives the feeling of peering into your soul.--Tao

....*gasp* You know what? While looking at this deck, I felt something I never felt with other decks before. I mean...I check this forum a lot, I look at all those new up-and-coming decks...I read all the "oooh's" and "ahhh's" but ALL of those decks before never ellicted a response like THIS ONE did from me!
I looked at The Tower and The Sun and The Moon and Judgment and Strength and the Minors and...*gasp* O_O I think this may be THE ONE! Need I say more?
When, where, how will I get this deck??? O_O

I like it too. Some images are disturbing, but there is a remote beauty to the deck which I find very appealing. Keep us posted on your progress.

The disturbing images are the ones that IMO are brilliant! :D I LOVE the Devil and the Hierophant, especially. The High Priestess is truly creepy in such a wonderful way.
I am anxiously awaiting more!

I'm not ususally one for photo decks at all, but this looks gorgeous! Ah, Sepia. Rock on! :D
Especially love the Five Of Wands, for some reason. Fabulous!
Congrats so far, JD, and please do keep us posted!
Oh, question, if I may: Any particular reason why you're using Roman numerals on the minors as well?
Can't wait to see your Empress, Fool and Queen of Wands!

I also love this deck. In my opinion its a very dark and not for the beginner. I feel that this deck would give the brutal truth without the fluff. I like it quite a lot. I would most likely be adding this to my collection when it comes out.
Great Job

The only thing that holds me back from this deck is the inverted pentacles, meaning Satanism. Too bad, I liked it before I saw those.

The inverted pentegram is used as a symbol of Satanism but that isn't the only use for it. Maybe you sould think of it as the symbol for the Horned God which is another of it's uses.
The Inverted pentegram is also the symbol used for second degree initiates in some Wiccan traditions - Gardnerian and Alexandrian I think - when used in this context it signifies the spirit descending.

If it helps, think of it as you're standing in front of the pentagram instead of behind it--so you see it from another angle. After all, if it were on the groun d& you walked in a circle around it, the top 'point' would constantly shift. No need to hang yourself up on a fairly recent 'use' of this pretty old symbol.

Yeah, I know its older uses, but I am very superstitious, and it kinda scares me! LOL. I remember I was thinking about Aleister Crowley in the shower (Just a thought that popped, not for...fantasy you sicko's!) and I swear I saw him standing there! So, I do not like evil. I just dont. I dont like anything that implies evil. I wouldnt wear a shirt with a swastika because it would imply I was a Nazi, just the same as I wont wear or use anything with an inverted Pentagram.
I am not condemning Satanist, (nor do I think they are evil), Its just my christian background shining through saying "Satan is evil". I dont know. Everyone has quirks!

A very beautiful deck, I especially liked the Magician and the new spin on the High Priestess, I've always wished decks would make her more ominous.

I love this deck! It's not easy to make a photographic deck look so mysterious, but you really pulled it off!
I love the entire Swords suit. The model has a very airy look about her -- I agree abou the 10 of Swords, too! I saw that card and thought, "Of course, that is exactly how that card should look!"
I liked the High Priestess, too. Just looking at it you can tell that this girl knows a lot of secrets!
Looks like you have a lot of fans here who are awaiting publication! Including me! :D
Peace,
Melvis

P.S. Check out the DeviantArt link the artist provided in order to see very large versions of some of the cards (mostly the pentacles) -- they're breathtaking! The detail of these works of art is incredible! He also states on his journal there that as of 7/19 that there is about 4-5 more weeks of design time before printing them! Wah! Oh, the torture! I can't wait that long!
