I purchased THE GOLDEN TAROT and THE GOLDEN TAROT OF THE TSAR.
Both are beatiful but I was not into the biblical influence of the cards in THE GOLDEN TAROT OF THE TSAR and I have resorted to keeping it on the shelf for now.
But I can't stop looking at the artwork, and the presentation (that is the box) of THE GOLDEN TAROT.
Kat Black should be proud of this set because it is one of the most beautiful sets out on the market today.
You can say the artwork is similar to the Biblical scenes in The Golden Tarot of the Tsar, but it's more of a 'blend of medieval and Renaissance artwork' as the Aeclectic Tarot review states.
I have done several readings with this deck already and have found it an easy deck to read for all sorts of spreads and questions.
I highly recommend this deck to collectors and other tarot readers out there. It can soon become the deck of choice for your clients and for your own personal readings!

I also ordered the Golden Tarot :) but I don't have it yet. Must admit I was also attracted to the way it looks with the box and the book - and the amazing price for such a deck.
There used to be a very long thread on this deck with Kat Black telling all the ups and downs in getting the deck published, but it looks like it is gone after this weekend's hacker. If you do a search I think you can find but somehow posting the link does not seem to work.

The box is a deluxe box. The book is 109 pages. The deck has golden edges. Eventhough I have shuffled these cards and handled them many times the gold edging remains. The symbolism follows Rider-Waite. The book describes each picture and provides suggested meanings for both upright and reversed positions. Kat also describes the sources of the art for her cards. They have a feel of the Renaisance with the modern symbols. The price is a bargain for such a deck. When I do readings with them I find myself spellbound by their beauty and communication. Another of my prized decks.--Tao

I bought last week: Tarot of the Renaissance; Answer Deck; Cat People (replacement for one given away); (a week earlier) Osho Zen in Hebrew
The Renaissance just caught my eye (I was in Watkins), and the more I looked, the more I liked! I just had to buy it.
However, as said in another thread, my buying comes in sprees, and I probably will not buy for a while (except a few bits at Tarot Garden, when I get around to ordering that is!)

Congratulations on the two new Golden decks Both are such lovely decks. Hopefully US games will start putting out more decks that are this beautiful.
It is interresting to me that there are so many decks with the word Golden in the title. :) I wonder if anyone will come out with a deck that has Silver foil (besides the Magenta deck) I love silver!

You can't go wrong with these two golden decks--the Art is outstanding in both.I've done a few readings(or divinations)with the Golden Tarot, amazing my friend with the meaningful depth and with the rarely seen paintings so well balanced in their blends. The portraits bring life and direct power to the deck---these were real people painted into immortality.I look for the universality in the cultural context of the other fine deck.
