As I have said in another post, I have just ordered the Soprafino and am just looking to see if anybody uses it regularly.
I have already had some good responses in my other thread, and since it is unlike any of my other decks, I am looking forward to using it. The negative stuff I have read so far in reviews is that the card stock is not that sturdy and that some cards are cut in a different size. So, what are the possitives to this one then? I can see already that the art is beautuful and I am looking forward to having something a bit older and with unillustrated pips. I have always wanted to get a TdeM at some point but the starkness in a lot of decks, even though the colouring is relevant, I am sure, was a little too bold for me so this one seemed to fit.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Yaboot,
Is it the limited edition Tarocco Soprafino F Gumppenberg 1835?
If so I love this little deck but I don't use it too often, it seems too special to be used regularly, I'm always afraid I will damage it. But I like the feel of the cards and also they have the effect of looking like the cards were printed onto old paper. The cards are cut unevenly and not laminated but it only adds to the effect of holding something special in your hands.
I'm not keen on the woodcut style of the Marseille decks but the Italian Soprafino ones are very easy on the eye.
The LS Classic Tarot is a very close clone of the Tarocco Soprafino.

Also known as Tarocchino Milanese in style. His lexicon helps one remember some interesting, unique details of the majors to this deck...

If someone wanted to design a modern deck with Di Gumppenberg's little details that follow this lexicon, what a gorgeous 'marriage' of old and new this would be!
Hope the designs give you a sumptuous feel...and if you also got the Lo ScarabeoAncient Italian for everyday play, you've got two lovely new decks to enjoy....sometimes I look at the Ancient Italian, but don't see all the Soprafino details that I've come to like based on Mark's identification....
By the way, the other essays on the site are fascinating as well---but I'd start with the Milanese Tarocco essay and the details from the majors...
Happy reading!
