I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it on ebay, but when I saw it at the local used bookstore at a great price, I couldn't not buy it.

That is one of my favorite decks, and I've found it at some bargain prices on eBay. I think you have to have an affection for the early 70's to like the Hoi Polloi Tarot. :D I've actually bought it for less than $5 US on eBay, usually advertised as "The Tarot" or some such description. It is sized wonderfully for my hands and just has a hippie aura about it that brings back happy memories for me.

p.s.: Rusty Neon, that is one classy avatar you're using now. There was a Portugese order of Knighthood that used that symbol, I have a massive silver ring with that same cross on it.

I just won a copy of the Hoi Polloi for less than $10 - very cheap and I'm very pleased - I've been wanting this deck for ages now but I refuse to pay silly prices for decks, even if they are out of print. I'm sure I'll like this one - I have a pocket RWS deck and I never use it as I just can't stand the artwork. My favorite RWS style deck is the Morgan Greer and one of the things I like so much about it is the retro '70s look it has to it.
I think I'm going to like my Hoi Polloi :) Bob does it stand up to regular use?

Yah, it'll last pretty well, the cardstock is pretty good, though not coated as heavily as US Games decks from the same era. The Hoi Polloi is probably the easiest of the uncommon OOP decks to acquire, so if you use it a lot, I'd advise getting a spare. If you have one of Robin Ator's two decks (Ator or International Icon) it is similar to that in feel of the cardstock.
