Recieved Thoth and Secrets!

Hooray ^^ My shipment came a week and a half early from Amazon.. the book is a bit busted up, but I guess I'll live with it, seeing as its a workbook. It's probably gonna get bashed anyways. The Secrets deck is mostly what I expected, although it is a little disappointing - the art looks not as good up close, and seems a bit too colour-contrasting. The Thoth deck, though, I immediately felt that this is a really great deck for me. It has a mysterious feel to it, a kind of windows within windows feeling, and the art is really detailed and looks great up close.. especially the seven of disks, great stuff :)

Enjoy using the Thoth, it's great. The artwork on 'big' card is even better.....

Good news indeed... :) Wonderful that the Thoth immediately speaks to you. I hope the Secrets will grow on you aswell.. Some decks do take a bit of getting used to but after the initiation-period work wonderfully well. Enjoy your studies!

excellent news, red120, that your decks came earlier than expected and that you really like your Thoth. :) It was the artwork that got me hooked when I found this deck - there is so much in it. Even after looking at a card for ages, you can suddenly see something else that you hadn't noticed before. ;) You should join us in the Thoth Study Group threads if you like when you get the chance - always great to have new impressions from others interested in the deck. Congrats on the new decks Red120!. Which Thoth did you get? (Were you able to get the large AG Muller Thoth?) And... you said you got the "Secrets" deck? I'm not sure which deck that is... is it, perhaps, the "Secret Tarot" by Lo Scarabeo? Just wondering. I do love the Thoth though. It gives me such powerful readings. It works very well for revealing inner truths and strengths. I've found it to work especially well with "issue - blockage - advice" type readings. It seems to really lean that way instead of towards the "you're going to meet a tall-dark stranger" type readings. Though, come to think of it, I don't get many of those types of readings anyway.

Yup, Trogon, it is the Lo Scarabeo version of Secret Tarot. I'm not sure which one I got from the Thoth, but it has AGMuller 1996 on it.. and it came in a lavender box. CreativeFire, I hope to join you guys in there after I familiarize myself with these cards :)

Ooooo... these are two of my favourite decks. Like Trogon, I also find the Thoth to provide very powerful, sharp, and insightful readings. I find that it works better when I am reading for myself. It is great for getting into my psyche and exploring my inner workings. The study group here is great too; some very useful observations and interpretations. Unfortunately, I have not been able to post as much lately due to the fact that I am trying to organise my move from Scotland to London later in the month. :( With regards to the Secret, I am sure that it will grow on you. It is such a great deck. Very dark, and very mysterious. I bet in a few months time, you will love it as much as I do. Hehe. :D

It works so well for me that I use it daily each morning and I somehow just can't bring myself to use it when reading for others.
