I read on one of the tarot reviews that there were several re-colored RW decks. I found 2. The Albano-Waite, and the Illuminated. The Illuminated is sooooo beautiful! I checked out the web site, and the price isn't too bad for this stunning deck. But now I'm curious about any other recolorations out there. Does anyone know of a few other off hand?

Thank you everybody very much! I'm going to check out each one of them. I get paid tomorrow and I might go ahead and order the Illuminated, but I'm going to check the others first. You guys are great! I'm fairly new to this site, and everytime I've had a question there have always been answers.
ps. Got the Gilded and the Gothic, and Gendron in the mail recently, and ordered the Guardian today. Seems like the letter "G" has been good for me this week.

Maybe you should go with the Golden Rider-deck then.

Collielin if you contact Carol Herzer who designed the Illuminated tarot she will send you a couple of sample cards from the deck. I decided not to bother when I received the samples because I didn't like the heavy lamination used. You can also choose a back design for your cards.

Almost as soon as the Rider Deck was released, a scoundrel named L.W. DeLaurance brought out a bootleg version of the deck AND Waite's book The Pictorial Key To the Tarot. All of the De Laurance versions of the RWS are recolored, each in a handsome monochrome color: the earliest (1918) in yellow, the second (1960's) in red, the third (1980's) in orange. Quality went down with each edition, but they are handsome decks in their own right, and usually go for a high price when they show up on eBay.
You can see them at Holly's Rider-Waite Page, just scroll down to Ship of Fools to see side-by-side comparisons of the various decks.
