Some of the cards images seem out of place, but the colors remind me of the Mythic Tarot. In fact, that is exactly what they remind me of, except this time the aces don't have outragously sized suit objects.
Yes the suits, the cups, staves, swords, and disks. They have a mythical quality to them in this deck, and not always a direct impact on the scene of the cards. While this seems the wrong method for such cards as the 2 of cups, or the 7 of swords, the scenes depicted do in fact portray the tarot at its finest.
The court cards seem aloof, distant, royal. I would associate these cards with local politicans, and their local attitudes among other points of understanding.
All in all, it was a pleasent suprise, one that was well worth the purchase.

are these the only differences or are there others between the two decks. Is it really worth it to buy the updated version if you have the old version? Just wondering.

The new deck, "Medieval Enchantment Tarot," is simply a reissue of the Nigel Jackson Tarot. They're exactly the same. I think paradoxx was addressing the deck in general, not the reissue in particular, which has no changes anyway.

If there are no changes to the cards in anyway(not even the slightest change) then I wonder why they would even bother coming out with a new version.

Sad thing is that if they did change the darned decks between printings alot of people would probably buy a second version lol. Goodness knows I would alot of times.
It is also a bit frustrating to keep track of this deck used to be called this deck and before that it was nammed something else all together. Grrrrr

Has he changed the suit associations (sword meaning air instead of fire) or is that the same too?

Nothing in the package indicates that any special changes have been made from the first release. Wands (or staves/arrows) are of air and swords are fire

Swords are tempered by heat and fire, and tolerate tempereture well.
Arrows/staves/wands move the air around.
Since creativity and intellect go hand in hand, the interpretations of the two suit orientations is well balancced. This deck also merges a pre RW with RW pips and entices the reader to find new associations.
