i don't have the gothic tarot, by vargo,, but seeing that scan you made it go on my wish list :)
i do have the legen arthurian , i find the actual pictures arent' as good as the scans as for they are not shiny or varnished enough,, they got more of a misty feeling for them. oh and the book is essential for them which i dont have yet.
since they are both beutiful :)
1. what do you want to read with more, athurian cards, or vampires
2. do you plan to get the book with the arthurian cards, i dont' even know if the book is required for the gothic tarot.
i feel i could read more better by the pictures with the gothic tarot but that is just me and i am speaking from one half of the picture.

I agree with Holmes: the Gothic is easier to read than the Arthurian. In the Arthurian every picture shows something of the legend, and this is not always the traditional tarot image. But if you like a deck that tells a story and that takes you to another time, it may be the deck for you.
The Gothic has better symbolism for tarot imo. There is also a study group for the Gothic, maybe you could go there see what people have to say about it.
I think they would both be good choices, however. Go with what you like best (tough I know :D) you can always get the other one later.
O, and there is no book for the Gothic.

Only you can decide - my advice - get both.
Here are a couple of links to both decks on AT to make it easier or harder for you :)
Gothic Tarot
Legend Arthurian tarot
Personally I think I'd go with Vargo

I have not read with either one of them yet.
Gothic is on my list of favorite tarot decks. I have a special relationship with them though....as should be noticable if you see my posts in the Gothic Study Group.
Legends: Arthurian is a beautiful deck, although the color seems a little washed in the cards. This is a theme deck and based on more traditional Arthur legends, like the new movie was, not on the popular versions of Arthur. The book was very well done and adds a lot to the cards. The reperesentations are not traditional though, so unless you are already very familiar with the legends, willing to work with the book very carefully, or planning on using them intuitively, I wouldn't get these ones quite yet.
Hope this helps.

Thank you all very much.
I think I will look around some more, I get the feeling *strange* that the Arthurian Tarot deck is the one for me, I have not been able to think of any other tarot deck *may be going nutz*. Thanks again very much.
Blessed Be

I have both decks. Both are special and romantic in their own way. The Gothic has more a masculine feel while The Legend is more feminine. I've notived that the purple borders of the Legend has made some sick, but personally I'm not bothered. I think it helps very much to have the book that comes with The Legend, even if you are familiar with arthurian legends, it helps to understand why that character is on that card. I have not read with The Legend yet, I'm still studying arthurian legends and the book, and I have so many decks I don't know which to study. There is no book, unfortunatly, that comes with The Gothic, but there is indeed a study group on this deck here, that would help you understand it better. It's up to you which to get. ;)

Go with the Legend Arthurian Tarot. I went untraditonal, and learned with it and have always love my readings with it. The images are softer because they were done with watercolor paints. I have a few friends who love that deck above my others, the images a gorgueous (did I spell that right? whatever). It is hard to go from Legends to a RW based deck, some of the meanings are different, and it does help to have an understanding of Arthurian myths, but the book that comes with the deck gives you basic on the myth pretaining to the cards. I hope this helps.

I have them both. I love them both. They are both very beautiful.
Vargo's deck is "easier to read". But the deck's subject matter may not be appropriate for all clientele. Consider that, whom you intend to read for most often (yourself, others, etc) before you decide.
The Arthurian deck is a bit too washed out, color wise, to really love it for me. The images are not as clear as the Vargo. But the deck's subject matter is a lot less "offensive" to folks with no Tarot exposure.
Personally, I lean toward the Vargo. If you do get it, hope you will consider joining us in the Gothic forum. :)
